Jackson 2016 Schedule
Jackson 2016 Schedule
What does it look like?
With the departure of GAHS from the SEOAL, Jackson will have an additional opportunity to "schedule up".
I applaud Jackson for consistently recording 9 and 10 win seasons. The strength of schedule this year wasn't bad compared to past years. However, they still only have 2 quality wins (Logan & Chillicothe). With some effort from the administration they could improve their strength of schedule drastically. Considering the current state of the program, a 2nd round loss in the playoffs shouldn't feel like much of an accomplishment.
What say you SEOPS?

Re: Jackson 2016 Schedule
Just to clarify, this topic isn't an attempt to knock Jackson. The point is that at some point in time a program has to take that next step. A 9 win season and a playoff appearance would be a heck of an accomplishment for most programs in the area. However, that is just par for the course for the Ironmen. Would the Ironton teams of the past been happy with this? Would the Burg teams of today be happy with this? I think not.

As it usually does! It's time to do what needs done to take the next step.Jim Ryan wrote:Basketball season starts a week late in Jackson this year.

Then 2016 results in 8/9 wins and another early exit from the playoffs.Raider6309 wrote:Wellston

Re: Jackson 2016 Schedule
Jackson will be as good or better next year but 8-2 to 10-0 very possible.

Re: Jackson 2016 Schedule
I'm sure something could be arranged with Hamilton Township, Teays Valley, or Desales, for example. Sure would be nice to them replace the likes of Wellston and Meigs with schools like this.
Re: Jackson 2016 Schedule
My point exactly! At this rate the season of 2026 will have the same result as the season of 2016.Poo Bear wrote:Jackson will be as good or better next year but 8-2 to 10-0 very possible.

Re: Jackson 2016 Schedule
Most schedules are made 2 years in advance. And as for Alex, unfortunately for them, they will be desomated by graduation this year.
Re: Jackson 2016 Schedule
I'll take 8.9.10 wins
Jackson doesn't have elite d1 talent
That have a good program and develop football players

Re: Jackson 2016 Schedule
The MAC schools in NW Ohio aren't exactly loaded with D1 talent either. Yet they continue to win multiple state titles year after year.

If you think it can't be done, then it can't. If you believe if can be done, then it can!
Re: Jackson 2016 Schedule
What changes would you like to see made ?
D3 state caliber teams are loaded with d 1
D 2 talent
Jackson has the same type kids as other area teams , just more depth and a better program

Re: Jackson 2016 Schedule
The Ironmen 2016 team will be very possibly the best squad we have seen since 1996 or perhaps ever IMO.
The program is ready for a Watterson, DeSales, HT, Marion Franklin , Clinton Massie type of team(s) to be added to the non league portion of the schedule (soon everything may be non league) in addition to Chillicothe and Burg who I hope we keep for a long time.

I hope the Burg/Jackson series stays around for a long time. Always a physical game.doubleplay643 wrote:The Ironmen 2016 team will be very possibly the best squad we have seen since 1996 or perhaps ever IMO.

Poo Bear,
That kind of outlook is why hell will freeze over before Jackson wins a regional title. Jackson is right up there with Burg as being the elite programs in this part of the state.
