Tami Hampshire: terrific power forward, overshadowed by Katie and Melissa Cooper ... and one of the 'best looking' hoops players around back in the day ...

I must be the only one now who doesn't want to see Lancaster off the schedule, sure the Gales will win most years, but it is a great gauge of where Logan's program is at.These last couple games have been Gale blowouts, but so have a lot of other games, its not just that game, when Logan was successful it was a very competitive game with Logan winning a couple,I only remember one lopsided game those years and one year Logan was right there until Lancaster scored a couple late TDS to make it look more lopsided than it was and even Kelly's rookie year it was fairly competitive. I think Logan will get it going again and be in playoff contention so they need to keep the schedule up a little up for when that time arrives and that should help them be competitive for the playoffs, scheduling soft might help pad the win column, but won't help if they make the playoffs. There are plenty of teams on the schedule now of Logan's caliber that Logan should be winning if the program is going in the right direction. The schedule is not that daunting like it was couple years ago and even Lancaster was bad last year so that tells how far Logan has dropped

I've heard some on here putting Athens down for running from Logan awhile back. And some said Logan didn't play a stiff enough schedule for being in the "SEOAL" for Logan's size. Now some are saying Logan should not play Lancaster. So I guess that would make Logan look like they are running away from Lancaster. Lancaster is good for Logans schedule imo, and have played them competitive enough so far and get's them ready for the journey for the rest of their schedule. Go Chiefs!!!

The numbers of students in the school system tells the story! What good is a game when your team loses its starting QB for likely the rest of the year, come on man! Like I said b-4 Lancaster is to big, to strong, to fast and to good! Tell me why we want to get our kids beat up and start almost every year with a loss! It must be $$$$$$$

Kids get hurt in any game, ya can't tell when that's going to happen moon. So you think if we didn't play Lancaster our kids wouldn't and couldn't get hurt? How many kids have you seen get hurt playing Lancaster so far since we've been playing them? It's bad that it happened last Friday, but kids can get hurt in any game no matter who they are playing. I know they have ungodly amount of boys but a div 2 playing and div 1 has no bearing on injuries. Heck, kids even get hurt in practice, it's something that happens sometimes and ya never know when in football. I respect your opinion but I think Lancaster is good for Logan's schedule. GO CHIEFS!

I understand injuries are part of the game and can happen at anytime. But it would be reasonable to go into your first game of the year with at least an even chance of getting a win! And yes size matters! Is an annual beating worth the $$$ This game will not make our program better! It is like Ohio State playing OU! OU is the sacrificial lamb for the $$$$

I'd look at a blend of Newark, Groveport and Lancaster in that order to open the season. Build toward the Lancaster game. The problem is those last three non-league games will be hard to schedule.

Moon I have to disagree with you over the "numbers" game,Lancaster has a little over 200 more boys than Logan, but if you look at Logan's schedule look at how many schools are on their schedule that have far less boys than Logan, especially Nelsonvile and Loudenville,we can't use that as an excuse if these other teams can do it,I understand Lancaster is probably a little more physical than your average team, but like trench said injuries can and will happen at any time not just one game, also their were quite few boys already injured and standing on the sidelines with just their jersey's on before kickoff last Friday,so we can't blame that on Lancaster! We can't be that picky about who we schedule with this diminishing League we in now,it would be nice to just get anybody anytime to play, but it takes years to schedule these games and the other team has to be willing and able with their schedule.

Let me start by saying that I respect the Logan fans on here for their passion and dedication to their team but the only reason I can see to keep this series alive is for the potential gate. I'm not trying to be a smart @!% when saying this but what is the difference between not competing and losing in week 1 vs week 3? If you aren't able to compete it doesn't really matter when you play. To me the kids in the Logan program need some confidence more than anything and they can't build any confidence in those type of games. A schedule change could certainly help not only the kids on the field but the overall vibe and feel of the community. I know many Logan fans in the last few seasons were hesitant to change anything (except the coach) hoping for a quick return to glory but lets face it, right now the schedule doesn't need to get the team playoff ready. A change would likely get more kids out to play and just as importantly more fans in the stands! Logan football games in the not to distant past were packed with people wearing purple and white and winning will get them back in the stands and in line at the concession stand. I'm not suggesting playing a terrible schedule, but they don't have a need to play any D1 schools, there are plenty of D3 and D4 schools in the area that would be much more fitting at this time. Just my opinions. Good luck to you and I wish the best for your program in the future.

Bolt , I respect your opinion, BUT The Lancaster's Pick North's and the likes of St Ed's are out of our class! lets play against schools and programs we can compete with year in and year out. And yes we need to drop Nelsonville and why in the hell we scheduled Loudenville I fail to understand the reasoning unless it was the last opinion! One last number! Logan has 49 young men on the team with a few freshmen included! Lancaster has 79 young men on there team. Now we have beat this into the ground let's move on to Teays Valley!

I may have said this before, but LoHS needs to schedule the Southwestern City Schools and schools like Groveport, Delaware Hayes, and Columbus South. Games like LaHS are just loser games for the Chiefs other than the fact there's oodles of money to be made.

I find it funny how Logan fans are using enrollment as an excuse for dropping Lancaster from their schdule.

Boys Enrollement figures from OHSAA for Lancaster and teams they play
Lancaster- 686
Logan- 478
Lakota East- 1165
Canal Winchester- 421
Grove City- 789
Pickerington North- 757
Pickerington Central- 665
Gahanna Lincoln- 879
Groveport- 783
Renoldsburg- 752
Newak- 666

Looks like Lancaster plays a team this week with 479 more boys than them.

The Cheiftains shouldn't look at dropping a team because of losing to them most years. They should figure out how to get better to beat them. If you can't beat an average D1 school there is no way you ever compete in the D2 playoffs.

Lhsfan97, I bleed purple but I agree with you 100%. It would be foolish to drop Lancaster from Logan's future schedule. Looking at Lancaster's Schedule and the enrollement, Canal Winchester is smaller than Logan and Newark has about the same as Lancaster. Newark is on Logan's schedule but don't here anybody complain about them. :122245
