Burg will be tested every week. Everyone goes at them. The Ironton game will be something everyone will compare as the weeks go by after we see how Ironton does. With their Sked, we may never know. All I know is Coal Grove scored a bunch of points in week one and passed for over 300 yards if I read the posts correctly. Burg needs to make them one dimensional. Limit their game to a passing attack or running attack. I choose running game. Last yrs game was a dual!! Its at Burg this year, the Grove hasn't played there in years. I go with my alma mater!! GO BURG!!

With seeing both teams play I'd say if the grove plays ball control and don't get tired, they can make this tight. Wheelersburg is a good team but not as good as we made them look. I'm not taking anything away from the performance this past Friday but they had a short field on on tds 2,3,4. That's why I'm saying the Grove can play physical on the o-line and D. Could be closer and possibly the start of a great season!

The burg had free reign in week one and I feel that the front line could give a good go at this! As long as the kids from the Grove don't do scoreboard comparison I think they'll shock some people! The burg is good but not golden! Keeping to my OVC roots I'll take the grove in a huge upset and a huge points game! GO GROVE!

Burg only played for a half at Ironton...if they wanted it could have been much worse...Ironton couldn't stop miller...coal grove won't be able to stop him either...he is the best qb I have seen in the area in many years and top five in tristate in thirty years. He can thread the needle on long throws and has touch better than I have seen for a long time within fifteen. Plus he is mobile. Good luck to both teams...it wont be easy for anyone this year. They shouldn't have much trouble until the third round.

Keeping Burg's offense off the field is the way to win, but can CG manage to put together any long drives that can eat up some clock? Burg has a very solid and experienced defense with fast and athletic defensive backs and I don't think CG will have the type of success passing they did in week 1.

I'm not sure what type of team Meigs has this year but I wouldn't throw it around too much against Burg's defensive backfield. They can pick your pocket. Coal Grove may score some but i don't think they can put enough points on the board to stay with Wheelersburg at home. Many cannon blasts and a win for the Burg.

tim tebow could have thrown for 400 yards against meigs defense, there secondary left people wide open all night long. but cg defense was just as bad. meigs qb sat in the pocket all day long until he decided to run or pass. most of cg line was on sidelines with cramps when game was on the line. this was a great game last year, but miller will eat this grove defense up, and the burg secondary i'm sure is far superior than the meigs secondary. could be a long night for cg, they're lacking leadership this year.

I'm rooting for a large worm hole to open up while both teams are on the field so we don't have to play either team later in the season! :-D

In all seriousness, I like the Pirates at home, and if the Dragons weren't at home, I would be driving to Wheelersburg to be a casual observer, because I have a feeling this is going to be the game to see this week.

You are a fool bruiser!! Meigs is a very good team this year, much better than the Hornets have played in the last 3-4 years.
why don't you quit tearing your home team down, and get on board?....

Burg by 30. Coal Grove may be the best team in Lawrence Co this year but the SOC II is that much better.

I would love to be there and see Jr on the CG sidelines like a deer in headlights. They will get exposed this week in a bad way.

Ironton went traditional bkfield they moved the ball 3-4 yrd per carry. Burgs defense not that great but they can fall on fumbles well Burg is a very good team however their defense isn't as good as Ironton made them look. If CG plays as strong on the Offensive line as they did vs Ironton they will move the ball at will. Now stopping burgs passing game ,? I'm not sure it can be stopped. Maybe bring in Clay Mathews n Revis island they might have a shot.

Sorry..... Burg will win big! They are just too fast and skilled. Very well conditioned and I do not believe IMHO that CG can stay with them for 4 quarters. I pray all stay healthy and injury free!!

I agree with "Youthsportsfan". I'm not sure you can stop their passing game. Bump receivers, stay wide at the ends & force the QB to scrabble up the middle. It might slow them down but won't stop them. Then again .... That may not slow them down. Their receivers catch anything close to them. Best of luck to both teams!!!

This could be the shocker of the week. If the grove doesn't turnover the ball and dictates the pace they will be in this late. I'll take the grove in an upset!
