Re: week 2 9/6 (1-0) Russell KY @ (0-1) Ironton
They will have to come out better than they did against burg....could be a long year!!!!
Re: week 2 9/6 (1-0) Russell KY @ (0-1) Ironton
Burg played lights out! Ironton I don't think the lights were ever turned on. Seen some things I thought I would never see with Ironton. Seen a couple of players look like they were scared to hit. I think coaches need to sit back and look at who they have out there on defense. I really think the Tigers will have a chip on there shoulder this upcoming game!

Someone in the Lawrene County area know how Belfry, Ky. did against Somerset on Friday? Thanks.
Re: week 2 9/6 (1-0) Russell KY @ (0-1) Ironton
Ironton can rebound question is will they.
Burg was better and faster ironton was blitzed in the first quarter and over whelmed.
The pass Defense needs to be looked at and changes made the right side was hit hard last night but that doesn't mean it can't be fixed.
Ironton just needs to regroup long season ahead but still a chance to do something about it.
Penalties and turn overs kill a team and last night in the first quart showed it all

Irontons problems, comes with only one senior on the defense, and maybe 1 or 2 on the other side of the ball. these younger kids don't play like 4 year seniors, they are afraid of making mistakes, and in doing so they make more. the coaching staff just has to bare with what they have and these kids will come around , all in all ironton has a good looking young team, gets your digs in now because look out, for the next 2 or 3 seasons and possibably at the middle of this season these kids will gel, and thats when you will see what kind of team Ironton really has. jmo.

Ok IMO ironton is n trouble..l watched all their practices & they did no hitting, looked like flag football. Now they get their butts handed to them..the coach said he did not let his starters get hit n practice because he did not want them to get hurt..has anyone told the coach that football is a contact sport..maybe he should coach the tennis team..just because he coached under coach Lutz does not make him a good coach. his team was not ready for contact.last nite he had players running on the field late, this showed he did not hav his team ready...he also needs to know that just because a boy can run fast does not automatically make him a good football player, left side defensive back has no clue..does offensive coordinator know how to call plays...fumbling ball, missing open receivers, & losing temper r not good, give #7 a chance..#32 should get more playing time on offense & several players a lot less time...ironton has strong football history..didn't look that way last nite...

ironton shouldnt be judged from handing a victory to a good burg team 28 of burgs points was from turnovers!! ironton defense played almost entire 1st quarter!! ironton will respond to this russell team!!
P.S. dont have the burg winning a state title just based on last nights game

Seen a couple of Ironton defensive players act as if they were scared to step up and tackle someone. Seen a couple flops when a burg player came at them. I dont know how or if the coaches seen this. But surely they did, dont want to sound like I am bashing my tigers. But maybe some individuals need to play only offense if they dont wanna hit somebody. Did anyone else see this or was it just me. Looked to me #8 was all over the place, seemed to me that he was only one trying to accomplish something on defense. No help on defense how can he get settled on offense when so frustrated over defensive play.

Ironton rebounds and wins this one and shows it is not as bad a team as people think.

if ironton doesnt win this one they could go 0-10 russell barely beat the worst program south of the river and we have them at home. and who else on this schedule looks a win if we lose to russell?? i think the head man is gonna be good but preparation is usually on the assistants could see some turnover there after the season.....

Why does Ironton have so many assistant coaches? Tag alongs from past tradition?
