Passing of a VC Athlete
The Viking Nation suffered a huge blow this morning. Kendall Dawn Sweany, a would be senior tennis and track and field athlete, passed away after a car accident. With her in her car was Ashley Nichole Fausnaugh, a graduate of the class of 2013. Ashley was a stand out student and former cheerleader. She is in critical condition at grant hospital but fighting for her life. Both girls are very good friends of my daughter so I know them personally and they are 2 beautiful young ladies and their families need our prayers. Little miss Kendall was always smiling, giggling and seemed so full of life, I dont think I ever seen her upset. She will be sorely missed by her family, friends and the entire Viking Nation. Lord please let Kendall rest in peace, heal Ashley's broken body, and ease the pain for their families and this community.

Transplant..... My son runs track and although I didn't know her I'm sure we have seen this young lady run, tragic events like this show you just how small the league is (TVC). Rest in peace young lady... And prayers for her friend that is fighting for her life. Times like this bring thoughts and prayers from all.... No matter what school ...

From the Viking Nation to all who viewed and especially those who replied, a big thank you. Please keep our community and especially our kids in your prayers as we prepare for the upcoming days. I think some times we get so caught up in our lives, jobs, even being a fan that we loose perspective. SEOP is all about all our kids, and when we loose one in such a tragic manner its nice to know that a fan like me has a forum where he can vent or release to like minded people, who truley care about their communities and their kids. Thanks to our surrounding communities for your support. And thanks SEOP for giving us all this forum to celebrate all of our student athletes!!

Thoughts and prayers from Oak Hill for these young ladies, their families and friends.
Psalm 51:10-12
Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

Prayers are working. Ashley's status is improving. She's awake and speaking. Keep them coming for the days ahead as we lay to rest a Viking.
