yeah crabs brother I've done what you are doing in the past and it takes a lot of time. You're doing a fabulous job with all of the scenarios that you are presenting.
My question is practical though. Can anybody in this region beat Ready or am I reading too much into them putting 98 points on a 4-3 D3 team?

Re: Region 21
I'm hoping it will be like '05 was when everyone thought Ready was simply too stout for the rest of the Region. They entered the playoffs as the #1 seed in the old D-5 Region 19, as the perceived big bad bully on the block. In the opening round, Adena gave them a heckuva scare with Ready pulling out a 48-45 win in triple overtime. Then in the Regional Semifinals, Valley took them out behind the wood shed at Logan Elm HS to the tune of a 28-6 beating that involved 3 Valley backs going over 100 yards in the game. Below is what Ready's season looked like that year. If memory serves me correctly though, I think they had sustained a few injuries that year.selonmc wrote:yeah crabs brother I've done what you are doing in the past and it takes a lot of time. Thanks for the kind words. It is something I enjoy, but it is nice to know it is appreciated. To answer your question.....I have no clue. LOL
I think you have to look at Ready as the favorite and to me it has nothing to with the 98 they dropped on Court House. By most accounts, WCH quit in that game and allowed themselves to be embarrassed. I look at Ready and see 7-0 against some very good competition. I do think that Valley, NC, or Bellaire could all beat them. I do want to see how they do against Hartley. That one should be interesting.
I also think that whoever comes out of this region has a chance to get to Stark County. I don't think the new D6 has many true dominant teams. There is no Ursaline or Coldwater. Kirtland still looks really good, but their schedule is pretty underwhelming. Region 22 doesn't look imposing. I am not predicting anything, but I think the Region 21 champ has a chance to play in week 15.

Re: Region 21
Looking through this week's slate, I only see about 3 games that could change the complexion of the region. Oak Hill (vs. Symmes Valley), Fort Frye (hosting Caldwell) and Ridgewood (@ Sandy Valley) all have their playoffs starting this week. The Oaks and Generals appear to control their own destiny's but they would lose that with a loss this week. Fort Frye is out with a loss to the Redskins.
The top 5 looks to have very little trouble this week.

If its and buts were candy and nuts we would all have great Christmas haha something like that, if Ironton can win 2outof3 they are in BUT I am presuming the 2 wins they have to get is against Hartley and the chances of that happening is about 99.9999999% not going to happen, but the other 2 are winnable.Just makin conversation and I don't have a dog in the fight either way, I am just always looking to see how we can get the most teams in around our area.

GESH my bad fellas thought I was in the region 17 thread and got ahead of myself my apologies. Just overlook it.

Re: Region 21
I have seen Ready this year and I think they are in a class by themselves. IMHO. They are a much better team than in 2005. If anyone in this region can match their speed and athleticism I would be very surprised.

Re: Region 21
Well Fredericktown jumped up and got back in the conversation last night. Ridgewood and Fort Frye both went down and may be in some serious trouble. I went through and roughed out next week. Ready's number is tough to figure playing a team from Michigan this week, but at this point it is nearly irrelevant. They should be the #1 in just about any situation unless their defeated opponents fall off a cliff and they lose to Hartley. Valley could catch them if they run the table and get some help from Portsmouth. I figured points for both wins and losses for Valley, Newark Catholic, and Oak Hill. Being a Valley fan, I think they get it done this week. :122245 :122245 :122245
Here is my guess for the standings after week 9:
1. Ready 23.87
2. Valley 20.39
3. Bellaire 16.66
4. Centerburg 15.60
5. Newark Catholic 13.32
6. Oak Hill 13.22
7. Monroe Central 12.05
8. Fort Frye 9.94
9. Academy 9.83
10. Fredericktown 9.55
11. Ridgewood 7.81
If Valley loses to Wheelersburg you can drop their average to 16.18
If Newark Catholic beats Granville their average would go to 17.13
If Oak Hill loses to Ironton they would drop to 11.72
The top 7 appear to be in. There are some big games to determine seeds, but even with a loss to Ironton, Oak Hill is in. Monroe Central is in with 2 wins and they appear to be pretty good favorites in each contest.
The 8 spot seems to be fairly simple. Fort Frye finishes with 2 teams that look to be heading for a combined 1-19 record, so they aren't getting any help. The Freddies are going to finish with 2 wins against bad teams. I personally don't think Bexley is a very good team. However, they have the points and if Academy beats them (which I expect), the Vikings will be the 8th team in this region. Basically, Academy controls their own destiny and Fort Frye, Fredricktown, and Ridgewood have to win and become big Bexley fans.
Again, I have all the numbers, so post a scenario, and I will project what the region will look like.
My first round guess:
Academy @ Ready
Oak Hill @ Valley
Monroe Central @ Centerburg
Newark Catholic @ Bellaire

In your first round predictions do you have Bellaire beating Ferry? If not, with everything else being the same, what is your seeding prediction if Bellaire beats Ferry?

Re: Region 21
My "guess" had Bellaire losing to Ferry. I think that is a straight toss up. If Bellaire gets to 8-2, they will jump an undefeated Centerburg. At that point, it would come down to Valley. If the Indians win out, Bellaire can't pass them. Bellaire would finish 3rd. If valley loses to Wheelersburg and Bellaire wins out, the Big Reds will finish #2.selonmc wrote:In your first round predictions do you have Bellaire beating Ferry?
