The prosecution did not meet there burden.
I honestly don't know if he was guilty of not but the media should be ashamed for the way they slanted this case.

Regardless of the overcome of the trail, no one will claim Mr. Zimmerman is an outstanding citizen. He was clearly overzealous and he clearly lied. If he had done as if was instructed by the dispatcher this would have never happened.

Hopefully there will be a civil trial where the burden of proof is not as great.

I do agree with Orange and Brown regarding his comment about "how the media slanted this case". Fox News is beyond disgusting!

Lied about what? Getting beaten? The dispatcher ADVISED him to stay in his car totally different than being told not to follow. The liberal media convicted Zimmerman on the basis of race because he appeared white. As we know about liberals the hate whites so Zimmerman must have been guilty.

I think the element of the whole thing that I was disturbed by was the vindication of vigilante justice. Neighborhood watch means you watch and report, not pursue with a weapon. If Zimmerman would have been deputized or authorized to take offensive action, then I agree he has the right to openly confront an individual. Law officers have a tremendous burden when it comes to lethal force and they are trained for when it is appropriate. Mr. Zimmerman was not. He was told not to pursue and defied that advice. He will be sued in civil court and will face significant financial liability.

Now CNN, andall the ther networks had a share in it also. Don't just blame faux news.

I believe it was CNN that coined the term "white Hispanic" because he has a whit parent. What if Icalled Obama a "white African American"?

It's called freedom of the press. If CNN or any outlet says anything patently false, individuals have the right to sue for lible. Mr. Zimmerman has that right.

Vigilante justice? Come on thats a stretch. Zimmerman was following a suspicious person who then turned amd attacked him. Clearly self defense, not vigilante justice. Vigilante justice would be if Zimmerman drove around the city shooting up drug dealers and thieves.

I really don't have an issue with the verdict. As I said, I have an issue with his offensive action. He should not have left his car. Bottom line, he should now be tried for exceeding his authority.

I can understand the verdict also. It's impossible to know how the confrontation played out. And "guilt beyond a reasonable doubt" is a heavy standard.

This is what happens when someone without the proper training, experience and authority goes beyond what they should be doing. As you stated, his offensive action is the problem. It lead to the dead of a young man who was doing nothing wrong.

Mr. Zimmerman is no hero.

What was his offensive action? The shooting was a purely defensive move hence being protected by the stand your ground law. Martin was the aggressor here. Following him was not offensive it was doing his job as a neighborhood watchman, observing and reporting. He did what he was supposed to do and Martin is the one who made the decision to run then attack Zimmerman. Martin was the aggressor not Zimmerman.

By following he was continuing his "watching" making sure the suspicious male did not commit a crime while waiting on cops. Again no offensive action taken by Zimmerman. Martin by attacking Zimmerman played the offensive role.

"Zimmerman insisted several times during this second interview that he didn’t follow Martin and that he only exited his vehicle to find a street sign so he could give the location to police. Serino wanted to know why, after three years of living there, Zimmerman didn’t know the names of the streets in his neighborhood."

“To be honest with you, I have a bad memory anyway,” said Zimmerman.

No reasonable person would believe that story.

Unfortunately we will never know the string of events that lead to the confrontation. Not enough to convict Zimmerman but not many people believe he was telling the whole truth. Perhaps he will be tried by the Feds or this will go to Civil Court.

I cant tell you all the side streets in Ironton. I can tell you by landmarks. Zimmermans story is totally believable. Im just glad the jury used common sense when deciding the case and Zimmerman went free.

Lots of people can't remember street names. Some don't pay any attention to them but their own street, and some close surrounding ones. Lots just go on photographic memory where they are headed or their where abouts. I'm one of them that suffer's from CRS, so i'll vouch for that. :)

Here's my 2 cents:

After a trial before a jury of his peers, George Zimmerman was found not guilty. Not innocent, but not guilty. The burden of proof beyond a reasonable doubt was on the prosecution. Apparently, they failed to meet that burden.

The national media played a huge role in this whole affair. They pushed the issue of race in this situation by, at the beginning, portraying Zimmerman as white when in fact he classifies himself as Hispanic. The media then categorized him as a white Hispanic. Has anyone ever been classified as a black Caucasian or a white African-American? President Obama stuck his nose in by saying Trayvon Martin looked like his son would if he had had a son. What about the hundreds of young black males who have been killed since, most at the hands of other blacks? Where is the discussion about them? When are Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson going to fall by the wayside? They continue to add nothing of any value to the causes they attach themselves to.

People protesting the decision have a right to their opinions and feelings, but to say that justice hasn't been served is nonsense. If justice is only done when the decision is what you want it to be, well prepare for a whole lot of injustice. I'm sure many of the 'protesters' are really two-bit criminals looking to take advantage of an opportunity as they see it.

I have a hard time remembering the street names in my neighborhood! Surrounding my house are Elm, Oak, Pine, and Birch, just to name a few. Can't remember which is Todd Alan, which is Madison, which is Victoria. Guess I just don't pay enough attention.

Hopefully, the feds don't try him in federal court. if the martin family wants a civil trial, have at it. But the feds don't have any business doing anything further to Zimmerman. But, I bet they do.
