SOC 2 Records... Anybody have them?

Post by bragdad2305 »

I know that every team in the SOC 2 has some league losses. Does anybody have the SOC 2 leaderboard? Or just post each teams record and I can compile them. Thanks!

I know Valley is 9-3 in league play

alright thanks... Now, has minford played West twice already this season or not? I know valley's first game with west is tomorrow and they have a make up sometime. Based on what you gave me it looks like if minford wins out they have the regular season SOC championship right?

You would think the Portsmouth daily times would be able to print an updates league record and schedules! Wheelersburg's team has not been in the daily times one time this season. If Minford gets the ban from SOC and post season who wins the league? Wavely? West? Valley? Burg has lost 4 so If they beat West tonight that would give them 4 loses. Valley who do they have left?

Valley only has 2 games with west left in SOC play. One of them is tomorrow. Not sure when the other is. Could be today since tourney selection is Sunday.

And I thought the punishment for Minford was just no tournament play? Is it that plus forfeit the regular season wins too?

Minford has 2 SOC losses to Valley and Wheelersburg and only three games left to play, South Webster, Oak Hill, and Northwest.

1) Valley
2) Waverley
3)Burg/West

That is if Minford gets banned from SOC play all together. Guess its all up to ohsaa and their final findings. Should have an answer by Sunday one would think.
darn shame that minford has this cloud over them, it sure looks like the girls out played their coach this season for sure as I know one young lady (pitcher) should come into some accolades this year for her play on the field. Sure hope this blundering mistake that was talked about in depth at the pre season coaches meeting that unfortunately must have fell on deaf ears doesn't get her as well.

West: 8-4 SOC II (12-6 overall)

vs. Waverly L 2-3
@ Oak Hill W 7-2
vs. Burg W 1-0
@ SW W 15-4
vs. Minford L 2-3
@ Northwest W 5-2
@ Waverly L 3-4
vs. Oak Hill W 9-2
@ Burg W 6-5
vs. SW W 14-1
@ Minford L 0-1
vs. Northwest W 9-1

Two remaining games against Valley and their SOC II schedule is complete.

West beating Burg last night makes things really interesting (depending on Minford's eligibility). West travels to Valley tonight and then the makeup game is next Monday at West. Those two games could go either way IMO. These games could decided either a straight out SOC winner or teams coming up with a share

WOW I get a hint of jealousy in this comment! Coach Messer has done wonders with Minford's program, for years it has been West and Burg in SOC II and now Minford is relevant again. He has at least one COY to his credit and should get another this year, his record will compare to any coach in the area as far a % goes! As far as the whole OHSAA thing goes that is more the fault of the AD than anyones, its his job to handle the schedule and make sure no violation occur, its the Coach's job to WIN games and that is what Messer does! The AD and School Board both approved the trip and went over it with a fine tooth comb before sending the girls on their way so they are just as much to blame as anyone. The only ones that stand to lose anything in this whole ordeal are the GIRLS that play the game they love!!!

It is the coach's job as much as the AD's to know the rules.

that comb must have been missing some teeth . ...... I do agree Messer has done a very good job with his club this season .. they have toughed out more 1 run wins in one season than most do in 2-3 years . just my opinion but I think he understands the theory of moving runners far better than most . he's done a great job with the X'o and O's of the game.

They need West to beat Valley once I believe and that will give them a two game lead on everyone, with only two losses. Regardless of OHSAA decision I think Minford keeps league crown if they earn it on the field, postseason will be the penalty in question.

LOL! are you kidding me, I'm sure there is no jealousy in this statement at all, just TRUTH. And as fare as COY, give me a break...Messer has been around the Travel ball programs long enough to know what rules would be violated....Minford is a good team, but give all the SOC girls half a seasons jump and See where more teams would be!!!!!

No jealously here RecGuy...Minford no doubt has the best record in the SOC and probably the POY on their team , but yet unfortunately this issue with the violations may very well cause these achievements to be looked at differently. That's all I'm saying.
And BTW this particular issue could have been prevented if the coach would have been listening during the coaches meeting as this issue was a topic of discussion days before the coach took his players down there to play.
Again not jealousy just facts.

Still hoping someone can provide the league standings from top to bottom. There seems to be five teams near the top with Minford clearly at the top. Minford, Valley, Waverly, West and Burg.

Waverly has four league losses. They lost twice to MInford and twice to Valley. They beat West both times and won against Burg both times. Very interesting and competitive season.

Another question. Did any of these top five teams lose a game to Oak Hill, Northwest or South Webster?

After West's loss to Valley last week, they fell to 8-5 in the SOC II.

Anybody have records from other schools? It would be nice to be able to have the complete standings.

Minford is 10-2 with 2 PPD games remain. At South Webster and at Oak Hill.
