New Enrollment Numbers
Re: New Enrollment Numbers
" These numbers were provided by the Ohio Department of Education through their Education Management Information System (EMIS)." If the Dept. of Education provided these numbers why would they challenge them? Somewhere down the line each school district had to supply some kind of info for them to come up with these numbers..

Do we (meaning Athens and Jackson) really want to dispute that? loldoubleplay643 wrote:New Division IV 216-287 and hmmm, Bishop Watterson enrollment goes from 294 to 277.

Re: New Enrollment Numbers
If I remember hearing right, the schools that are right on the cut line can be moved either way to even out divisions. Depending on the final numbers Urusaline could still be D5 and not D6

Re: New Enrollment Numbers
I can't remember which local news talked about private schools are losing students at a very high rate, so I will give those numbers to the O.H.S.A.A. but I do not believe so many of these smaller schools are growing at the rate the numbers say.

Our 9,10 and 11th grade has 96,96,83 total students. That is a total of 275 total students and they are saying that we have 205 boys? I don't think we are that disproportionate in the ratio of boys to girls.

The last time I heard anything about enrollement in the high school, there were actually more girls than boys, almost a 2 to1 difference.

According to that, Ironton only has 228 Boys in all 4 grades togather and NOT 238 in just the 9th -11th grades. What in the heck is OHSAA looking at lol........ :122248

Re: New Enrollment Numbers
There information says that in the entire school disctric there are 630 male strudents, the numbers from OHSAA are telling us that there are only 425 male students from K-9 in our schools this year, in the words of Cris Carter, " C'mon man!"BlizzardMan wrote:Is Coal Grove an all boys school now? Re: New Enrollment Numbers
Lets hope there are some appeals on this, it appears they used all 4 grades...either way, Coal Grove for example, is WAY off.

Re: New Enrollment Numbers
I have heard from a very reliable source Paint Valley will be appealing.
My source said that their next 3 graduating class have less then 75 kids total.

Re: New Enrollment Numbers
Lets hope others follow suit, teams need to be playing where they are supposed to be. Thats a pretty big mistake by the OHSAA, then again....the way they site the football playoffs we really shouldnt be too shocked. The ball is in the schools court. so its all on them for not fighting this, if they think their numbers are wrong. Props to those in charge at Paint Valley.

Piketons numbers are correct, we were 197 during October count, that is up 18 from 2 years ago. Our freshmen class is pretty big. All I know is that these are the final numbers unless they appeal.

Looking at the numbers for Ironton they used all 4 grades + some lol
Irontons numbers reported, if this is what OHSAA is going by http://www.ode.state.oh.us/GD/DocumentM ... tID=142550
Total Students -
(9th)........111
(10th)......109
(11th).......95
(12th)......122
..............437
(Male) 228 - (Female) 209 ......... in all 4 grades.............Where did OHSAA come up with (Male) 238 - (Female) 255 in grades 9-11th

Okay,,,,,,Coal Grove has 205 reported for grades 9-11 but the spreadsheet on here has 192 boys for grades 9-12, I truly hope either our AD or principle will apeal this.

Re: New Enrollment Numbers
I have read on other sites that the OHSAA knows that the numbers are incorrect but once again in their infinite wisdom will not do anything about it, it is up to the schools to appeal and to show why their enrollment numbers are wrong.
