dude. the buckeyes havent played anyone thats any good. how do u figure they have the best defense when they have played against michigan state which has given them the most run for their money actually pretty close. they are OVERRATED!! Must i remind you about the Florida and osu title game last year. the new athletic conference code to get in is what? 108..or 4114..hmm sound familiar. think again. they are gettin built up for another let down just deal with it

dude... theyre undefeated. Dude.... Michigan St. scored the two TD's on defense, against our OFFENSE not or DEFENSE idiot. Everyone around THE BUCKEYES are going down, except for THE BUCKEYES themselves. If THE BUCKEYES arent number 1 then who is?? USC..LSU..Florida??? get real. And by the way this is 2007 not 2006 "dude".

exactly so why are we having posts on here about the 2002 buckeyes which i do believe is completely irrelevant to this year bc that is not the present so why should those stats matter as opposed to last years title game when the bucks got creamed when i believe they were said to "be better" last year than this year. correct? its time u face reality the bucks had the opportunity to prove they were a great team last year in the title game against florida. did they? NO. i wont give credit to a team whom i think is only number because they have played non-competitive teams such as kent state lets get real! im not "bashing" them either im just stating my perspective and that is until the buckeyes can play and "manhandle" a team that is actually some competition they arent number one to me. I dont see them getting it done this year either.

What team in the country has "manhandled" every team on their schedule? USC lost to a HORRIBLE stanford team. LSU lost. Oklahoma lost. Florida lost twice. Cal lost. USF lost. all the teams I have mentioned have lost aginst weaker opponents. You need to do a little research before you open your mouth.

ok first off we are talking about the buckeyes here not to be confused with the gators or the tigers or any of them. compare the bucks schedule to everyone elses this year. they are playing cheeseball teams that make them look better than what they really are. 4014 bigtime. remember it.

Wow, you really are retarded arent you. i'm gonna quit arguing with a little boy. maybe you should go to a website that more fitting for your age.

what would you recommend? that? its "thats" now whos retarded? you are getting steamed over opinions. get over the fact that not everyone is gonna agree with you and the buckeyes bein "perfect" which is a little farfetched..but we will wait and see.. :?:

I'm not sayin that THE BUCKEYES are perfect and have been dominating. And i will not be surprised one bit if the fall to one of their four remaining games. But as of right now they are deserving of the number one ranking.

they're ranked #1 in the AP, USA Today and ESPNU Fan Polls too. sounds to me like those of you who believe they dont deserve the #1 spot are in the minority.

there schedule is ranked 117th so until they play someone there is going to be the argument that they are not a legit number 1, and lets face it when comparing the big ten to the sec there is nothing to compare, to take osu side(which is hard to do for me), Ohio State can't change conferences just because the Big Ten isn't THE top conference. If I was a fan of the Big Ten or a Big Ten player, I would be mad at my conference leaders, everyone needs to see what the SEC is doing and use it as a springboard on making the conference better, if the need to add a team then find a team that to add, my pick would be go to the Big East and try to get UC, then you could break up into divisions and have a confernece title game, but I would urge the Big Ten to break divisions like the SEC and the Big 12, the way the ACC is broken up is so stupid. But back to the topic, OSU will not be considered a legit number 1 until they have a tough schedule. But one thing to remember is there schedule was tougher last year and it didn't help them in the national title game, you know the SEC teams are going to beat the crap out of each other, so I guess if you can rest and have easy games while you can it might pay off in the end.

Have you thought that Ohio State is #1 is because they have yet to lose a game unlike LSU, USC, Florida you name it. OSU started out at #12 and have won 8 games and lost NONE, that why they are #1. Quit whinning about the BCS not being fair and whinning about Ohio State being #1.

Actually 2trap, Ohio States schedule is ranked 71st, which is still bad but not 117th, in the sagarin ratings. Kansas's schedule is the one ranked 117th.

Here is the link. Just scroll down to the team rankings:

I think the Sagarin ratings are more well known and reliable. How in the world could they say that FIU's schedule is tougher than Washington's? Lets compare:

FIU
@ Penn State
vs. Maryland
@ Miami
@ Kansas
@ Middle Tenn. St
vs. Troy St
@ Louisiana-Monroe

Washington
@ Syracuse
vs. Boise State
vs. Ohio State
@ UCLA
vs. USC
@ Arizona State
vs. Oregon

FIU's schedule doesn't even compare to what Washington has faced so that right there tells you that site is absurd!

Here is another one that disputes your source:

Some of those schedule you gotta look at the team. I mean OSU playing rutgers, louisville, west virginia and south florida would be a laugher, all wins for osu, but for a team like cincy or syracuse that play those same four games its a lot tougher for them because they aren't the caliber of team that OSU is. Not sure if it has anything to do with schedule strenght but it should.

who cares how hard ones schedule is. If a team starts out ranked decent and they win all their games they will play in the national title game and then they just gotta play good ball for one day to be national champs.

looking at OSU's remaining schedule...

@ Penn State
vs. Wisconson
vs. Illinios
@ Michigan

do any of those teams have the "competitvity" that you're looking for? will the bucks deserve to be #1 if they win out the rest of the season? or are you gonna cry all the way to the national championship?

competitvity
