They just said one of the victims who died was only 8 years old. That sweet baby was probably waiting to see Mom or Dad cross that finish line. Once again I just have to ask why?

Where did you get that info.
I just checked and the numbers were:
3 dead
12 critically injured
140+ injured
That info came from 2 different networks as of 8:35 this morning.

I am continually amazed that individuals and organizations persist with terror attacks when they accomplish nothing and create backlash. What possible outcome do these idiots think they will achieve? They may obtain attention and notoriety but life goes on and people are hardened by these attacks. American resolve is a tremendous force that transcends politics!

Their goal is to instill fear in the public and to gain global attention by obtaining mass casualties. They are cowards and they are soulless. They have achieved their goal. You'll never be able to attend a sporting event or any other large crowd gathering without thinking about this senseless act, especially if you are in a larger city. It's much like going into a multilevel building after 9/11. Scanning the floor/building for exit points is first and foremost.

Looks like they might be moving in on the second suspect. His older brother was killed last night in a shoot out with police. Unfortunately one police officer was killed and another seriously injured in last nights events.

Watch how this is politicized. One group will be trying to figure out why these men done this and the other will be keying on what they done it with and will blame it instead of the men who done it.

I'd like to wait until they have all involved and really know what the reasoning was. I can't imagine anyone calling for limits on pressure cookers.

I wonder how many of the non gun owners in Boston wished they owned a weapon when they were placed on lock down? The, "Don't answer your door unless it is law enforcement" order must have have been terrifying for those who couldn't protect their families. I must admit I'm not a big weapons type guy, but to not own and be fully qualified in handling a weapon is something many should reevaluate, especially if you live in larger cities. It is extremely remote for terrorists to target rural America but if in larger cities around known landmarks, sports games, huge crowd type events, etc...watch your 6.

It is virtually impossible to stop this type of terrorist attack, see Afghanistan, Iraq, Isreal, etc...I do find it troubling our gov was notified by another foreign gov (Russia, about their concern over the older brother having ties with radical Muslims and these clowns were still able to pull off what they did. If we didn't monitor this dude after the initial interview then some-one's rear needs fired.

On-going debate on civil liberties:

1. Is there an expectation of privacy while out in the public? Use of cameras monitoring crowds in public areas?

2. Monitoring international phone calls? Profiling locations?

3. Email traffic?

4. Social media? Profiling?

5. Gun Control?

6. Immigration laws/policies?
