2013 Nelsonville-York Buckeyes
Re: 2013 Nelsonville-York Buckeyes
I think the 0 playoff wins is what he is referring to. Yes that is underachieving . when you consider winning a league that isn't very good and getting beat in the 1st round every year it is underachieving.

I know one thing for sure is that Region 19 is usually really tough. Johnstown struggled in that region for a few years and then when it moved to DIV region 15 they have had much more playoff success. I know NY has had declining enrollment, but they have played close games in the playoffs. I hope they get over the hump...

The 2013 team could make history be becoming the first class to ever beat Logan 3 years in a row. That has never happened.
The best stretch ever was winning 3 out of 4 in the 90s, but never has NY defeated Logan 3 years in a row.

Does anyone know why NY droped the scrimmage with Portsmouth West?
Re: 2013 Nelsonville-York Buckeyes
Just a guess, but they probably picked up a closer school.game day wrote:Does anyone know why NY droped the scrimmage with Portsmouth West?

Being in region 23 should shake things up.
What does everyone think of the move to D6 region 23

Its a good thing O & B ... this DVI region 23 is what use to resemble DV, region 19 ... except Wheelersburg (last years No. 3 team), Bucyrus Wynford (No. 4), Loudonville (No. 5), Liberty Union (No. 6) and Hillsdale (No. 7) - DID NOT DROP TO DVI.
You did however pick up Newark Catholic (12-3 last year) ... and still includes Valley (12-1) ... Bishop Ready dropped from DIV ... Bellaire (8-3) is a tough football program ... Oak Hill (9-3) dropped ... and then you have the teams like Columbus Academy, Grandview Heights, East Knox, Fredricktown and Centerburg ... and Ridgewood as well.
But I still think the Bucks landed in a good spot ... the cut off was 155 boys ... NY has 148 ... 7 more boys and the Buckeyes would have been DV again.

Adams will be the qb this year. He was thrown into Tue fire week 1 last year but he will be much better. Age and experience will help him grow as a qb.Alexander Hitman wrote:Who was the buckeye JV QB last year ? Does he have a shot at the varsity this year O and B ?
Lots of ground and pound, NY is going back to it's roots.
