Re: Unioto updates?
Heartbreaking way for the Shermans season to end. Even tougher for that to happen to a kid who put in as much extra time in the gym as any kid I can remember in the last decade at Unioto. Great season and will be weird not seeing those 4 seniors who were such a vital part of the last 3 seasons. Congrats to Coach Hoops, his staff, his players, and that fan base for the memorable season.
Good luck to Alek, Kyle, and the Nicks. Hope to see a couple of them play again.

Re: Unioto updates?
What a tough tough tough loss for the shermans. I traveled down 50 to see the ross county boys play and i honestly thought after the first half that unioto would win by 20.
In my opinion the far better team loss last night. however, thats why you fire up the busses and roll out the balls.
The sccotts looked like they had never seen a zone before in the first half! i think they made more adjustments than unioto in the 2nd half.
this game was one of the more poorly officiated games i have ever seen. it was bad bad bad both ways though. didnt really effect the outcome in my opinion.
i am wondering why unioto didnt foul at the end. they had 3 fouls to give with 20 seconds left. easy to say from my vantage point in the stands.
which kid was going to louisville from ridge? i heard it was #5. no way they kid is D1 worthy. he was the most athletic kid on the court hands down and had some monster dunks but he literally couldnt dribble or shoot. and hes only 6'5? thats a guard at the next level. i was far more impressed with 21 from ridge. maybe he is the one going to louiville. he was complete.
congrats on a great great great season. from a cavalier fan, congrats Tanks. Heads up high.

No one is going to Louisville from their team per ESPN.

I searched recruiting pages for Louisville commits, and not a single player from Walnut Ridge is listed.

According to this site, Malik Harrison played QB for them. He was #5 last night.Rabeanos12 wrote:You are right. i just looked as well and coulndt find anything.

Looks like a good amount of D1 interest in football, but hasn't committed anywhere yet.

Re: Unioto updates?
5 is a D1 football player and 21 is a D1 basketball player. Both are getting looked at by OU. 21 is also getting looked at by Ohio state but his only offer is Stony Brook so far. 5 has offers from Pittsburgh, Illinois, Kentucky, Toledo, and Western Michigan in football. Michigan and Michigan state also show strong interest. only juniors

Re: Unioto updates?
Very tough loss for the Shermans last night, but still the Purple and Gold had a great season. 26-1, SVC champions (Gold Ball), and district champions. Unioto has a lot coming back next season, so they could be right back in the regionals in 2015-2016.
Re: Unioto updates?
Unioto parents were talking last night about the PV big kid transferring to the U next year. Said he already lives in the district and mom is an alum. May just be wishful thinking.

I'm more than satisfied with what we have coming back, but he does reside in the Unioto district, so who knows.Shoelace wrote:Unioto parents were talking last night about the PV big kid transferring to the U next year. Unioto loses 4 outstanding seniors, part of 3 SVC championships and 75 wins over their careers.
Unioto does return 4 of their top 8 and will fill in the blanks with some young guns from the JV squad who went 20-2 this season. Should be another fun season in Frenchtown and I feel like they will be a favorite to win another District title.
Re: Unioto updates?
Congratulations to the Unioto TEAM, Coach Hoops & staff - what a great season !!! … you were my #1 for a reason - the best, most complete TEAM Below the Lancaster-Dixon Line … undefeated regular season, Sectional Championship, District Final appearance … it all adds up to outstanding job by all involved with the UHS program … thanks for letting the rest of us hoops junkies/ cheap seat fans of the game come along for the ride and experience near perfection - thanks Coach Hoops, daniC … a season we will not soon forget …
… 6-9 Big Man from PV lives in the UHS school district ???!!!! oh my !!! - the young Big would do himself well to get coached up by Coach Hoops & Co. … Mr. Swingle will be a force on the court no matter where he takes his game for the next 3 years … who couldn't use a 6-9 and growing BIG in the middle with tons of upside ...

Congrats to my friend Coach Matt Hoops and the Unioto Shermans. Wow! what a season, I'm sure the Unioto faithful is proud of everything that was accomplished this season. I'm sure they will re-load next season!

Re: Unioto updates?
Pfloyd, the only reason that the 6-9 Swingle will stay at PV. His mom is employed there and she seems happy to be there. Believe me, we have room in Piketon for him plus the guards to get him the ball. I'd hate to face Unioto with Swingle.
