Gonna be one sweet complex when completed.

The field was tested by an independent specialist today and everything was great.

needs more away seating to be seriously considered for playoffs i'd think.unless that has been upgraded as well.

From the video, I am guessing the new facility would seat 2,000 to 2,200 fans. Small for a playoff site. Still the 'new" Radiger Field is quite an improvement
and should adequately serve Waverly football and other field sports well into the future.
Re: WAVERLY FOOTBALL
Great picture of a great facility. Still a shame though that the old path cutting across the football field from the 1960's is no longer there.
Students who lived in the projects in the background used to cut across the field to reach the school from the old back side ticket gate.
Good grief I am old !

Re: WAVERLY FOOTBALL
I have checked out the Tigers a few times and they are looking good. Nice size and speed. The key will be keeping them healthy. Two very good QB options, both will probably see action.
A piece of history can be yours as turf pieces will go on sale beginning at the Orange & Black scrimmage on August 8. More info on that at a later date.
New lights are yet to be installed as is new fencing. The area where the school once sat will be paved next year.

Re: WAVERLY FOOTBALL
The orange & black Tigers looked pretty good today as they hosted the Purple Tigers from McClain for a 7 on 7.
Nice on target passes, crisp routes, good hands, nice speed and quickness. The boys have been working extremely hard, numbers are up from last year and there's a whole new attitude. After a week off they start two a days the first of August.
Looking forward to the Orange & Black scrimmage on August 8.

Great picture of the new facility for the Tigers. It should serve them well as they move forward. Smurray how much seating is it compared to the old stadium? And Waverly is the perfect location for playoff games. They are pretty much in the middle of southern ohio. Only concern is the stadium seating. Maybe they can get D-6 or D-7 games. But the Tigers need to improve and start competing for a SOC title again.
Re: WAVERLY FOOTBALL
Seops123, I'm not exactly sure about the seating capacity but the home stands is way more then before and the visitor side is about the same capacity as before, just new, better and handicap accessible.
I believe Waverly is already hosting a girls D3 soccer tournament game this year. A real good possibility to host a D6, D7 football playoff game. There is also ample parking for those divisions and then next year the upper level lot (where the school once stood) is slated for paving. People can park there now but it's creek gravel.

Re: WAVERLY FOOTBALL
smurray, That's good to hear. From the pictures it looks like the press box is built into the top rows of the bleachers instead of recessed behind them? Also I head the BOE overthere did a heck of a job finding a way to get the stadium done so kudos for that. Sounds like continuous improvments are planned. Any plans to make the away stands bigger? There seems to be room between the two light poles, or is the money needed for more important improvements within that district?
Re: WAVERLY FOOTBALL
seops123, yes there are some seats beside the press box with blocked views but the seating capacity is still very good.
There could be more seating added to the visitors side and some have talked about that. Possibly even a smaller visitor side restroom. Administration was forced to replace the visitors bleachers at the last minute two years ago as the old ones were condemned and they purchased what they were able to afford at the time.
It's been and continues to be a work in progress and indeed kudos to all involved in getting the turf done this year.

Re: WAVERLY FOOTBALL
Of course there is plenty to work on after the first full contact Saturday as the Tigers split into groups for the orange & black scrimmage. Defenses did well as they should in such scrimmages and there was some great intensity. Everyone was anxious to hit somebody. After a day off the boys were back at it today and the "pads were popping". This Tiger squad is going to be more physical. Looking forward to the progress they make this week as Miami Trace invades the jungle for a scrimmage Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m.

Going to have a "Community Open House" on Monday, August 18 at 6:30p.m.
The stadium will be open and the new field turf available for the public to check out and walk on.
The "turf booth" will also be set up with many different pieces available for purchase.
