Tigers faired pretty well against the Panthers from Miami Trace this morning. Tiger defense swarming to the ball, playing much more physical and aggressive then years past. Offense has some work to do but the offense always takes the longest to get going. Tigers with two very good and capable, although different styles, QB's.
Good to see the Piketon staff checking out the orange & black. Less than two weeks for the Pike County clash at newly renovated Raidiger Field.
Tigers host Southeastern next Friday night at 7:00p.m.

Tigers weren't too hungry in the early going last night but following a halftime "correction" speech Tigers chowed down on the Panthers. Starters/1s&2s played three quarters of running clock and chains while the JV/Freshman ended the scrimmage playing the 4th.
Cottonbrook (11) looks really good running the ball while Howell (10) connected on two really nice TD passes. Have to get both of these guys reps. Running backs and receivers are an A+ for the Tigers. Good speed and hands. O-line is big, fairly quick, and a little deeper than years past. Defense picked it up being much more physical and aggressive in the 3rd. Panthers connected on a trick play halfback pass for a TD in the 3rd. Everyone sucked in, have to fix that.
Way, Way, WAY too many hanky's on the field. Defense jumping offside is simply inexcusable - WATCH THE BALL, DONT LISTEN TO THE QB!
Gotta have a really good week of practice after a couple days off. GET READY TO WELCOME THE REDSTREAKS TO THE JUNGLE!

Waverly is definitely improved from last year on both sides of the ball. The defense is very aggressive should not get pushed around as much as they did last year. Offense will be much more exciting due to both scheme and talent. Kottenbrook is a true duel threat that will force the defense to defend the whole field and not just the running backs up the middle. I don't think they have used the whole playbook in the scrimmages yet because they know they are being scouted by Piketon and want to keep them guessing a little bit. It remains to be seen how they will fare against the SOC top teams, but they will be more competitive and more fun to watch this season.

SOC2 will be tough and the Tigers start with 3 of the bigger SVC schools in Piketon, Zane Trace and Unioto. Need to come out of the gate on fire!

YTB, you can go to svcsportszone.com to get a weekly list of games for SVC schools. You can also click on the individual school icon and get composite schedules. See me tomorrow and I can show you. But wear Red Streak red, not Tiger orange!
