Cutch is blazing hot with the bat. His batting average dipped to .185 on May 5th. In those 26 games since he is hitting .398. If you think that is good, he is hitting .476 in the last 13 games. He is hitting to all fields, with power and with runners in scoring position.

Josh Harrison has been almost as good. Pitching has been outstanding.

We were 18-22. We are now 28-24 and 6 back of the front running Cards. 4-2 on the current 10 game road swing. Going for the sweep in the Bay today.

Gerrit Cole is a MLB best 10-2 and a 1.71 era and 38 year old A J Burnett is 6-2 and 1.89 thank you very much. Our worst pitcher is starter Jeff Locke 3-3 and 4.90, not too shabby, so crack open an ice cold Fort Pitt ale and toast our pitching staff because we're doing it old school, with our pitching.

While we struggle at times WISP, we are ranked 11th with a .264 batting average with Buccos on the pond, just ahead of the Cards .262 average.

Our team batting average is 14th at .253 and we lead MLB with a very healthy collective .320 average at the cather's position between Cervelli, Stewart and Sanchez. Go figure.

Pitching is carrying us. Bats are heating up but we need to do better at the plate.

Next 4 games are vs the White Hose with 2 in the 'Burgh and then 2 on the South Side. The Pale Hose are 17-9 vs the Bucs and have won 8 of the last 9.
