UNBELIEVABLE. This group of Panthers have come so far, and have played so much baseball together and even with many of the players in blue and gold today. These two teams fought today like it was to the death. Lester and Whitt looked like two old pros, then Wade and Henson took over and it looked like the game may go 30 innings. But a bad throw on a third strike in the dirt to lead off the bottom of the 13th opened the door. Lester then lined a hit to left center that moved the winning run to third and Jake Henson delivered the game winner with a shot up the middle.
Lester goes 9, Henson adds 4. Lester moves the winning run to scoring position, Henson drives him in. No coincidence that these two had these type of games. They've been the workhorses all year. Good for them to soak in a little more lime light. They both deserve it. But it wasn't just them today. Blake Ashworth behind the plate was a marathon man and gunned down two baserunners in one inning to get scoring threats off the bases. Kolton Webb, Casey McComas and Nate Smith also had huge hits today.
Congrats Panthers! You deserve this win, this Championship, this dream season! Now, pass the crackers, it's Chilli time!!
