Kacee Jenkins in D2 was 2nd team....should've been 1st team

Sadly the picks are far far less accurate than what should be . Our pitcher went 3-0 in 2014 VS a pitcher that lost 3 times VS our team.. twice by mercy rule .. our pitcher got no state recognition and the opposing pitcher was 1st team all state . Its all about the " I'll vote for yours you vote for mine " mentality by the coaches .

Not sure if I would lump all of those awarded in the same category. Sure there are probably some that weren't recognized that should have been and others that should have had more recognition (or less), but to make a blanket statement that its "ALL ABOUT" something is only taking away from those that deserved it.

coleman from burg being 2nd team SOC is a joke. I think you could make the argument she was one of the 2-3 best players in the league.

Totally agree about Coleman...but the way the SOC does the voting does not promote a true all-league team...

Stretch , you are correct, I did not mean all players that were honored were cherry picked by coaches with a agenda . I just wanted to make the point that there are some obvious , blatant , picks that are just exactly what I mentioned. Sosby certainly deserved her awards . Then you see a kid like Meeks get left behind , or Coleman being 2nd team all conference. And the pitcher I mentioned . It just makes the whole process look bad .

Coaches are just given a number of 'slots' they are allowed to fill. Unless someone agrees to give up their position, there really is no voting to debate on who makes up these all conference/district teams. Unfortunately, in the case of some players like Coleman who is a sophomore, players are given an award less than they deserve because their coach ran out of 'slots' and they are younger and will get their chance in future years. I really don't like this way of thinking because who knows if a player has had their best year at a young age or could have an injury/illness that prevents them from playing the following year. The "everyone gets a trophy" philosophy that every team deserves to have a player on first team all conference needs to be looked at. If your team is 0-14 or 1-13 in the conference, you probably don't have any players who deserve to be on first team.

Thanx. Was curious to see the list. Congrats to all who were recognized . I had heard the Flyers coach didn't even go to the meeting to nominate any of his players. Very sh#tty in my opinion. Musta been busy "saving lives". Not that My daughter , who's a freshman, was expecting it but we had several upper classmen that were worthy .
