Eastern competes in the TVC Hocking so they have to face Trimble,Belpre,Wahama.South Gallia,Southern,Federal Hocking,Miller and Waterford.olddog wrote:What is the competition like for Eastern? River will play Buckeye Trail, Monroe Central, Tyler Consolidated and Magnolia all expecting good seasons. Who does Eastern compete with that expects to be good this year? The trip to Hannibal may cause concerns to the Eagles, at least two hours on a school bus. Hope the weather, early season game, does not get involved.

River will throw the ball 75% of the time vs. Eastern. The Eagles' DB's will be busy as Flannery likes to air it out.
Pilots have NO punting or kicking game so Eagles should have excellent field position all night.
River lost all-Ohio kicker/punter Colton Wright.

I hope River can escape with a W, by maybe a TD or less.Screaming Eagle wrote:2 days to game day! Who's everybody taking in this one?

Re: Eastern @ (Hannibal) River - Week 1
Eastern turned the ball over 5 or 6 times last year. Lost 16-12 I think. Both teams have significant starters returning, and both lost some key players. If the green team holds on to the ball, they have a chance.
Re: Eastern @ (Hannibal) River - Week 1
That's the thing. Take away those 5-6 turnovers and Eastern wins last year.
Eastern will try to run the ball down River's throat IMO. Pilots young, but they were even younger last year
But I think Eastern will have its hands full with Pilot passing attack.

Re: Eastern @ (Hannibal) River - Week 1
Does River have anybody to fill the shoes of #5 from last year? That guy was a beast at WR.
Re: Eastern @ (Hannibal) River - Week 1
No, #5 was Brok Cross. He was a beast and was all-OVAC, District and all that good stuff.
I know he's playing college football somewhere but I can't think of where off the top.
Cross was a combination of Fred Biletnikoff, Antonio Gates and Lynn Swann... sorta.
River will miss that kid because no one on the roster has his experience.

River won 60-6.
Too much speed. Eagles moved the ball a couple times inside River's 20 but came up short.
Facemyer under pressure most of the night. That Richmond kid is a good receiver.
Hope the punter, Life, didn't get hurt on that bobbled punt snap. He got hammered pretty good.
