How does (Hannibal) River look this season?
How does (Hannibal) River look this season?
Flannery a Senior, experienced line, not losing much, and hopefully having Sophomore Lukas Isaly all season. How do the Pilots look?

Went 5-5 last year, blew both rivalry games (MC&Magnolia). I don't see why they don't improve and make playoffs. MC lost their best player. That is a very winnable game.

How does a Wheelersburg fan have so much information on a team over 100 miles away?

I think a Wheelersburg fan with knowledge of River's situation is more than welcome to add his 2 cents.
Let's face it, River's going to showcase the Flannery kid's arm, but my money's on Drew Dietz to have a big season, along with Isaly (if he stays healthy). Matusik is one of the top linemen that I can recall. Pilots have to figure out how to beat Monroe Central and Magnolia.

MC has too many athletes for River to handle, hooper had a better season last year than Flannery and it was his first year at QB. Hooper adds the threat of running along with passing. Alleman is poised to have another great year, kids a hoss. Seminoles also return an experienced line in Justin Kilburn who received a block of granite award last year, and tanner Potts who is a 2 year starter both ways.

River will have to wait at least one more year to beat MC. Very big And experienced OL. Justin Kilburn is an absolute bull, you'll see teams run away from his side all year long. Hooper came along at QB last year, started slow but came along. While Levi Brown is a loss at RB, the Noles running game will be every bit of what it was last year with Chad Alleman taking over, I've not seen a 230 pound kid with speed like his at MC before. River will win games, MC won't be one of them. Padded schedule should help them make a playoff push.

I recall Alleman was tough and running behind Kilburn on those 3rd-and-shorts should extend drives. Hooper's ability to throw the deep ball should improve and his running skills shouldn't be ignored. Tough early schedule for MC but I can see 7-8 wins, including at River.

With Buckeye Trail leaving the PVC after this upcoming school year, anyone think River would join again to get it back to 6 teams (Caldwell, Fort Frye, Frontier, Monroe Central, Shenandoah) ?
