OVC Preview Schedule

The Ohio Valley Conference football preview will be held Saturday, Aug. 15, at Ironton’s Tanks Memorial Stadium.

Each game will consist of two quarters. Here is the schedule (the second team listed is the home team):

5 p.m. – Fairland vs. Rock Hill

6 p.m. – Portsmouth vs. Gallipolis

7 p.m. – Chesapeake vs. Coal Grove

8 p.m. – South Point vs. Ironton

Admission is $6 for adults and $3 for students.


Jamboree Games:

Friday, Aug. 21

Northwest at Coal Grove

Rock Hill at Symmes Valley, 7 p;m.

Fairland at Minford

Belfry, Ky. at South Point

Van, W.Va. at Green, 7 p.m. (regular scrimmage – no admission charge)

Gallipolis at Wheelersburg

now is the jamboree game at ironton as well. or at different schools. and did ironton get the jamboree game replaced that the Cleveland team had to back out of. are jamboree games a partial game or full. I've never been to one.

Ironton's jamboree game should be a home game. I'll see if I can find out at church tonight.

Jamboree games are usually full games with admission charged. Most places, starters or one's and two's go first half. J.V. 3rd quarter and freshmen 4th quarter. sometimes starters out earlier then that. Sometimes starters play a drive or so in 3rd quarter. depending on what happened in first half or to work on something extra for the next week.

I didn't think OHSAA allowed charged admission for scrimmages. Donation can be made but not mandatory admission.

You can not charge admission to a scrimmage game, but you can for a preview or jamboree game. Each team must play the OHSAA $250 to play in a jamboree game and I guess the admission charge is a way for the school to get that money back.

No one is saying how these teams LOOK. Same as always? which is usually just short of real bad,.or is anyone better this year? Did Rock Hill field a team?
