Yes...This will probably be his last year...I also believe he'll be coaching basketball this year as well

Indians looking pretty good in the opening game. They've struggled in years past in the opener.

Valley 252 yards offense, 11 yards per play
Portsmouth 61 yards total offense

Rolfe 6/7 99 yards
Howard 73 yards 4TD

They have the bulk of starters returning from last year's regional champ team.

Did both teams come away healthy? Did reserves get quality game time? Congrats to the Indians and best of luck to the Trojans.

Surprisingly valley played starters till the very end.

The running clock was the reason. Valley ran the kickoff back and then only got maybe 2 offensive possessions the whole second half? and one of those ended after 3 plays with the tipped INT... The whole second half last maybe 40 minutes total

Have no problem with starters staying in. Surprised that Portsmouth didn't get on the board but knew that the defense would struggle. They struggled to stop gallia, which has one play.

Only one game but that looked to be the weakest Trojan team I've seen since 1995.

Wouldn't be surprised if they went 0-10. Just the facts.

Yeah. I was thinking the same thing. Don't know how to take that game. Has Portsmouth fell that far or is Valley that good? Or a mix of both?

Its tough to start a rebuild with a new coach, offense, and defense against the defending regional champions who only lost two players. Trojans players and coaches never gave up and made improvements in the 2nd half that they can build on for next week. Don't let the score fool you Portsmouth will be tough to handle for most of the teams this year and will win a hndful of games.
