A SEOPS Pick 'em 2015 proposal
A SEOPS Pick 'em 2015 proposal
OK. I realize that the annual Pick 'EM contest can be an absolute bear to keep control of. That being said, it's extremely fun and exciting. That's why I'm throwing my hat in the ring and offering to make the weekly schedule of games and keep track of everyone's scores.
My proposal: a weekly schedule of 25 games (most from SE Ohio, a few other big games from other parts of the state), with a few of them being 'bonus' games that count for more points when picked correctly (a lot of these will be from outside of this part of the state). Winners of the regular season and the postseason will receive awards.
The catch: I'm not grading 200+ different sets of picks. There will be a limit of 100 players, with the Top 32 qualifying for the postseason.
Another catch: I have no awards to give you (or me, if I win) at this time.

So basically for bragging rights. And if I can make a suggestion, maybe look at STO's high school football broadcast schedule and try to use games that'll be broadcasted from other parts of the state so we can all watch those games should any of us not be able to go to any of our local games here in southeast Ohio. Also, I'm guessing once you have your 32 playoff qualifiers, each week you will be decreasing the field by half to 16, then 8, 4, 2, and finally your champion kinda like our state playoff, but without the bracket or is it gonna be just those 32 teams over the 5 weeks with the highest playoff score winning?

Ok, they only do one game a week that's shown at 11 PM on Friday night that's considered the game of the week in Ohio. Just a suggestion. http://www.foxsports.com/ohio/story/ohs ... hio-082015GoBucks1047 wrote:So basically for bragging rights. Thanks Fuzz!
I always look forward to the weekly pick ems. If I could suggest that people who miss a week are "out"...it will make it much easier on you. Besides. someone taking 25 or so losses for a week due to not picking will not have a chance to make the final 32!
Count me in!

Yes, I will definitely be enforcing a strict miss one and you're out policy.

GoBucks,
If I feel that the STO game of the week is going to be close enough to award bonus points to people who guess it correctly, I'll use it. As you will soon see, the bonus games are going to be worth much, much more than regular games. That being said, I'm going to make them much tougher to pick.
Yes, in the playoffs, we'll be cutting the field in half each week, all the way down to the final 2.
Re: A SEOPS Pick 'em 2015 proposal
If you are taking the first 100... (Which is fine, it's your pool) But that will make everyone hurry up to enter their teams early in week 1 ... Just pointing that out.
