the bad news is, next up is the 4-time defending state champs and a 82-man D6 roster.
ML barely won opener over McComb 24-22.

There is absolutely no reason this game should be played. None.

Competitively speaking you are absolutely correct. The ML 8th grade team would likely beat them. The reason this game is being paid is simple, the almighty dollar. Beallsville wanted a game, ML attracts massive crowds to every home game. If 3 or 4 thousand people show up you're looking at a 15-20 thousand dollar gate.

Hopefully MSML is splitting the gate in some fashion, because with only 14 kids this year, I can't imagine how they will ever make a return trip to Beallsville next year.

The problem I have with that is the Beallsville community isn't lining up against them. They're asking 14 highly outmatched kids to. At the very least lets hope a large part of the community makes the trip to support these athletes.

I don't believe Marion Local would do to Beallsville what Martins Ferry did to Fairport Harbor Harding a few years back when they scored 92.
The Flyers are more concerned about making the playoffs again, and winning another state title.
A wounded Blue Devils team IMO will beat Southington Chalker, Hannan WV, and Gilmer County WV. Those teams are THAT bad.

But like EDSpy said, mad respect for Beallsville playing the game. I hope they get a lot of fans to make the trip or charter a bus.

With the running clock they have now it won't get to 100. Yes it is supposed to be against ML varsity but I doubt their varsity will go much past the first quarter.

The problem is that with each string that gets inserted that's fresh players getting cycled in against the same dozen for Beallsville. It will get into the 70s unless they start taking knees.
