Thoughts on this one. Ironton had at least had 5 players go down with injury including Palladino and des young

Beechwood is a really good team. I hate to say this but realistically even if Ironton gets all 5 starters back, I doubt it would be enough. Ironton needs to reduce fumbles, turnovers and silly penalties (Personal Fouls) Right now I got Beechwood by 2 TDs.

I'm sure many players and coaches do come to this site and see what posters have to say. I hate it when teams do not play well and coaches ,players are lambasted. Been going to the tank since '73 and have been spoiled by many great teams , players. I believe ironton should have went after coach harmon of Wayne WV. Don't know if he'd of taken position but there is a definite coaching issues and for at least 3 years flagrant fouls committed. Didn't see that with lutz era very often. I'm sure if job became open the floodgates would open to good coaches wanting the job. But he'd have to bring in assistant's that know the game. And a previous post said "took 2 years to damage what took 40 years to build" is correct. Good luck next week.

Oh spare us all. Vass isnt that good. No one ever answered my question about his record with Burg. It is 1-4. We need to clean house. What qualifications did he have coming into this job? He was related to someone that used to do the job? Is that why we are reluctant to say it is his fault? Ironton never had that problem before and we Griped with way better coaching than this and had a much better coach leave the first time Lutz left.We need someone that understands conditioning new and improved. That is the first place to start. Discipline is gone. No one can even block properly. We have all the best players from all the other schools and cant win? Unbelievable. I been thinkin this for years. Now it is so bad the players are going to go to Coal Grove and Rock Hill!JMO

I agree with you superstar, i think one should ask as why are so many players getting hurt, seems like we have a bunch of starters hurt, exspecially in some big games, it may of happened but i dont remember any where near the injuries when Lutz was coaching, i hear how good of shape they are in but i dont see it, this team has a ton of talent and we will be lucky to finish 5 and 5; 6 and 4 at the best( hope im wrong) going in to the season i had such high hopes but one can only hope that the top 7 or 8 teams in our region loses a few more games than expected. i do think it is time to make a coaching change after the season, clean house and start fresh, no team's fear ironton any more; i can only wonder what the future holds if we can't win with the talent this team has the future doesn't look to bright

Yea I am sorry if I offend folks. It is just the way it is if you choose to take a coaching job. Of all places to except less than good.

first off I'd like to pray for those who got injured. that is not always a conditioning thing. one chop block put me on the shelf my soph. year.and I never played again.that's on me, I just went another direction and took welding classes. and also I was not able to go last night. but there must be a huge discipline problem with the kids. I ain't getting into any controversy over coaches , that's above my pay grade. but if you are coaching and players are costing you with personal fouls, bench em. I'd rather go 0-10, and stop this problem and nip it in the bud. than to see/hear that it is going on without being corrected.and it hain't gonna get any easier with the beechwood tigers licking their chops ready to pounce on a wounded fighting tiger team in their own house.i hope/pray these are not serious injuries for these kids sake. but football is not a contact sport. basketball is a contact sport. football is a collision sport. and can altar lives.on to the next one and next man up and all that non-sense. things are getting bad in tiger land. and hopefully things start improving. I can easily see an 0-4 start coming if some things stay the same.and the fighting tigers have the talent. but frankly right now may be mid-pack level in the ovc. which is unacceptable by fighting tiger standards.

someone will end up hurt BAD if ironton don't toss the power RUN formation back into the stone age where it belongs (it don't work , WILL NEVER WORK , etc , etc )

this game is the tale /tale game on if VASS has control over this game if the offense don't put 30+ on board then same guy is calling plays and wasn't relieved of his duty's

KY MAX PREPS shows beechwood with a 18 person roster wonder who knows if this is true ???

I know they have freshman that START on varsity

my defense can hold the other team to 18 and 14 pts but my offense cant produce squat (its a lot of the same players) makes NO sense example = offense cant produce squat cause guy calling plays knows squat about FOOTBALL

if that problem isn't fixed by game 3 (by vass as in benching the play caller as in adios , see ya on down the road somewhere) this team will struggle to WIN 5 games

I expect to see 30+ on board by ironton this game (If vass takes over play calling)

When is the last time Ironton started a season 0-4? If ever? Oh and CG will beat Ironton this year and Portsmouth will give them all they want.
