Well, it looks like Vlad Emelien has been told that his offer is still on the table, but that he must commit soon or he MAY be left behind. NB said that OSU is his leader by a longshot, but that he is not ready to pull the trigger. Apparently, some people are telling him that if OSU wants him they will wait for him, while others are telling him to pull the trigger now since he likes them so much. However, NB and Greene have also said that Vlad appears to NOT be ready to make his decision, so the timing may be off on this one.

OSU apparently is also extremely high on Sam Longo (OL) and are close to offering him a scholarship. OSU likes Marcus Hall, Chris Watt, and Sam Longo at the OL position above all others who are interested in them. As of now, Longo has not been offered.

OSU has 23 verbals and somewhere between 27 and 30 spots. The numbers are getting tight.

The pressure for these kids to commit is high, and it makes one wonder if a player might commit merely to save his spot "just in case." However, Vlad Emelien told Bill Greene that he wants to wait because he does not ever want to decommit.

NB has now said that he does not think Vlad will be a part of OSU's class. He said because of timing and circumstances.

It is being reported that OSU has received a verbal from OL Sam Longo. He would be #24 in OSU's 2009 class. He had offers from Miami, FSU, Nebraska, BC, Oklahoma, WVU, Louisville, Maryland, Virginia among others. Longo is rated at 3-stars by both scout and rivals...but his offer list and performance at OSU's camp indicate otherwise. Kid is a big time prospect. Some on OSU's staff feel he is the best OL in the state after seeing him at camp.

OSU is asking for a decision from Chris Watt, thus saying they need it soon or he will be left behind. Some think that Longo may have taken his spot. This should be interesting to watch unfold.

This will be interesting I have had a feeling for a while that he was a Doomer. Honestly I would much much rather OSU get Watt than ND.

That seems to be the way the tide is turning, especially since Sam Longo said in an interview that he had to beat Watt to the OSU verbal.

OSU needs to get Marcus Hall and Jamaal Berry. Those are the top priorities right now IMO, though Watt would be a great get for any team.

Apparently, earlier in the process, Watt's father asked JT if OSU wasn't an option, would he go to ND or Illinois. JT said without hesitation, "Notre Dame." JT is taking a move from Woody.

Well....as crazy as it sounds...OSU is apparently back in contact with Vlad Emelien and his offer is now back. Some speculate that this has something to do with Watt looking elsewhere, while others are mentioning Eugene Clifford's troubles. NB and Bill Greene seem to think it is Watt related.

Jamaal Berry, a RB from Florida, just committed to OSU!

He is rated by some services as the #1 RB in the nation, and had offers from OSU, Florida, LSU, Tennessee, Michigan, etc.
