Re: Wk 3: Waverly vs Unioto
Not sure about this one. Tigers have some issues to get worked out. If they are able to get them worked out they can be a very good football team. Unioto and Piketon both beat Vinton County with similar results. Waverly ran all over Piketon but then couldn't punch it in once they got inside the 5. McClain lead Unioto 14-7 in the 2nd before Unioto got on track.
The Shermans will be huge favorites in this game, particularly because of the Tigers game at Zane Trace. If Waverly plays like that this Friday it will be over rather quickly. The Tigers had some good moments but after the tipped pick six for 90 yards made it 21-6 they never recovered. This could be the defining moment for the season.

The starting QB/Safety injured his ankle on play that looked like it could have been a horse collar tackle (I couldn't tell if the hand was inside the back of his jersey or not, but he was pulled backwards from behind). The game was close at that point in time.

Waverly often seems ready to right the ship then injury, bad bounce, or bad luck knocks them back. Waverly needs something good to happen but it will not be against the Shermans. Unioto 24-13.

Read the Waverly vs Zane Trace thread and you'll see how the game went. Ya, the game was 7-0 at that point.

Waverly is capable. We have a new offense and there have been some hiccups. I'll bet that gets taken care of this week and we see a more crisp and efficient product this Friday night. I'm picking the Tigers to win this contest.

Having seen Unioto play for all of 2 plays thus far, I can't make a real, solid prediction, so take what I'll be saying with a grain of salt.
But, Erique Hosley is a machine and you can not let him get a step because no one is going to catch him in the open field. With that in mind, Andrew Oyer ran for nearly 300 yards last week as McClain focused on Hosley. The Shermans have a very good offensive line and a couple of nice weapons on the outside if they get into passing downs. They did give up 3 big plays to McClain that led to 3 of their scores, so the defense has to tighten that up.
I could see this being a shootout, but I do think the Shermans win, 35-27.

They should start all of them at 7pm.
I am tired of 23 minute halftimes.

Ummmmm, WHAT? What would starting the game earlier have any affect on the length of halftime? lolnice guy wrote:They should start all of them at 7pm.
