The sec get to play most of their bowl games near home.
Take the Michigan game--that should have been play at Michigan. It is somewhat unfair for the big ten teams having to go out west or down south. Forget the warm weather. Make these southern teams go north to play. If the Michigan game had been played up there it would have had more fans. Same with Ohio State if it was played in Ohio there would be more fans. The southern and western teams always get the weather they want. I would love to see LSU play in this weather. Bring those team up North.

Hang on a second, man and I'll bow down to them as soon as I burn my daily sacrifice of incense at the SEC shrine in my closet. I'd recommend everyone on this site do the same, lest the all-powerful SEC smite us with it's superior College Football skills....

If the SEC is so much better than everyone else, why don't they just break away from the rest of the NCAA and form their own league? Hell, why don't they just break away from the whole country and form another country... oh wait... they tried that! My bad.
The south is America's "loose skin" if you will - the dead weight that is simply there. And to make up for the chip on their shoulder, they try (with the help of the media) to make themselves look like some kind of behemoth of College Football.
The best conference? Probably
By far? No

SEC has more depth in the league but there is not much difference when it comes to the top teams in both conferences.
I like how you say UM spanked UF and Tenn just slid by wisconisn. I think UT won by four points and what michigan won by six. big difference huh. Your just a homer like the rest of the big ten fans.
Sure the big ten and sec are 1-1 against eachother now with one game remainging. Michigan and OSU are always going to be just as good as the sec teams but the SEC is a lot deeper adn the rest of the conference is a lot better than the rest of the big ten.

here you go. this sent the big ten posters away on the other thread.
i went back the last 20 years and looked at past champs. i used bcs, then ap before the bcs was established.

by my calculations that is:
SEC-6 CHAMPS
BIG 12-5 CHAMPS
BIG EAST-4 CHAMPS
BIG 10-2 CHAMPS
PAC 10-1 CHAMP
INDEPENDENT-1 CHAMP
ACC-1 CHAMP
the math doesnt lie. granted, the big east champs were the glory years of miami.
big 12 has 2 1/2 times as many champs and the sec has 3 times the champs that the big ten has. big east has twice as many. when it comes to being BIG, the big ten is kinda small.

What a joke that last statement was. I agree the Big 10 is not anywhere near the best football conference but it's still a good conference. It has a long way to go before being great but to call it a "small" conference or insignificant, as it seems you believe, is just flat out ridiculous. According to your stats the Big 10 is 4th among ALL conferences in championships over the last 20 years. That doesn't sound like a "small" conference to me!
The Big 10 has been a well balanced league for years, with OSU, UM, Penn State, Illinois, Wisconsin, Purdue, Michigan State, Northwestern, Minnesota, and Iowa all in the thick of the league race as some point in time during the periods you list. These teams knock each other out of the championship race time and time again. The SEC is mainly Florida, LSU, Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn, and Georgia - that's about it. Ole Miss, Miss. State, Arkansas, Kentucky, Vandy, and South Carolina have not been serious contenders during this period. Same goes for Big 12, you have Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska (but not lately), Oklahoma ( had their lean years), and that is about it on a consistent basis. My point - Big 10 schools knock each other out of championship contention on a routine basis - Big 12 and SEC have had a much easier time to championship games over the years because of their weak conferences. Because of the split leages, the SEC and Big 12 teams only have to prepare for a few tough in conference games and they are predictable who they are. In the Big 10 , about any team can step up and challenge the Bucks or Wolves on any given year. Only reason Bucks have made it to NCG the past two years is the league is down - but traditionally, not the case.

I AGREE. BUT NOT WITH THE LEAGUE BEING DOWN, WE HAD 10 OF 11 BIG TEN TEAMS BOWL ELIGIBLE. THATS A STRONG CONFERENCE IN MY OPINION, OVERALL. ANYBODY CAN BEAT ANYBODY. NOT LIKE THE FLUKE UK OVER LSU GAME WHICH HAS NOT HAPPENED IN DECADES BEFORE THAT.
