Great effort by Waverl ygirls last night. Lost 4-3 at Ironton St Joes. Goal with 1:00 left on a very questionable shoving call gave St. Joes the win. Ironton struggled with Waverly's speed all night. The Tigers got a much needed boost of confidence. They are playing much better and are going to be tough the second time around in the SOC.

What kind of a year is Zane Trace having. Who all have they played? I know they had a very good team last year but graduated quite a few seniors.

They lost several seniors and from what I hear, have had some injuries as well. Waverly 2 West 0
West had an own goal with 20 minutes left, then a phantom penalty was given to Waverly a few minutes later. Why do the refs in southern Ohio blow the whistle every time there's contact inside the box? West's player slid cleanly through the ball and got up with possession, but the ref blamed the infraction on him tripping the attacker while getting up.. While West had possession. On top of that, Bragdon was yellow carded before the PK when the ref mistook what he said for back talk. C'mon man.

Wheelersburg 2 St. Joe 1. Burg held scoreless the second half and one first half goal was a PK.
