Week 7: Jackson Ironmen (5-1) @ Logan Chieftains (6-0) SEOAL
The likely SEOAL championship game.
HUGE playoff implications for both teams. A couple of senior classes who have battled since the 7th grade.
A proverbial "Unstoppable Force" meets "Immovable Object" game.
We'll have the play by play LIVE on LoganFootball.com starting with pre-game at 6:45 on Friday night.

Agreed -- league title on the line and major playoff points.
Re: Week 6: Jackson Ironmen (5-1) @ Logan Chieftains (6-0) S
Just a few numbers for everyone...
All-Time Wins (according to the most updated info I have) - Jackson 596 - Logan 565
SEOAL Titles - Jackson 23 - Logan 26
Playoff Appearances - Jackson 10 - Logan 8
All-Time Series - Logan leads Jackson, 46-44-4
Two of the most storied programs in the history of SE Ohio football.
When Jackson and Logan meet on the gridiron, more often than not, the SEOAL title is on the line, as well as each team's playoff aspirations. Both Jackson and Logan currently sit at the #2 spot in their respective regions, and a win would mean MAJOR computer points for both teams, as mentioned earlier in this thread. This is an outstanding rivalry with many memorable moments. I'm sure that this year's game will be another classic. Unfortunately, it looks like I'll be missing my first Jackson-Logan game since 1991.
The Ironmen appear to have rebounded nicely with a 41-0 shutout of Warren after their setback against a very good Wheelersburg team, while Logan's offensive machine just keeps rolling. Should be interesting to see if Jackson's defense can limit the explosive Chieftain offense, and put together enough offense to get the win. I'm sure The Chief will be rocking on Friday.
Definitely planning to check out the webcast on loganfootball.com!

This match up cries out to be played on Bill Sauer field. Miss the old place.
Re: Week 6: Jackson Ironmen (5-1) @ Logan Chieftains (6-0) S
I agree noreply, easily the best team Logan has seen yet.Teams with speed give Logan's defense problems and Jackson has plenty of it.If that QB is healthy for Jackson i can see a high scoring shootout possibly.Give the edge to Logan for home field, but they must clean up the penalties.
Re: Week 6: Jackson Ironmen (5-1) @ Logan Chieftains (6-0) S
If the Chiefs come out and play a low penalty/no turnover game, I see LHS coming out with the win, but I think by no means will this be a blowout.
Re: Week 6: Jackson Ironmen (5-1) @ Logan Chieftains (6-0) S
Jackson will have to play a very clean game to win this one. Tough matchup for both teams.
I feel like Jackson might play their best game so far.

I'll take Jackson by two touchdowns. Just think they are going to come to play.

I like Logan's chances in this one. However, turnovers and penalties could loom large for the loser. I don't know what Burg did in beating them but I suspect good D and a solid ground game. Weather may well impact this game too. I know we have a 60% chance of rain up here, so SEO may be wet too.
Re: Week 6: Jackson Ironmen (5-1) @ Logan Chieftains (6-0) S
Supposed to be rain and windy here too,but that could easily change since it so far out.Could favor Jackson if it does since Logan will probably need their passing game to win.

Jackson won 42-7 last year.
They've played the tougher schedule of the two to date.
And a panel of SEOAL Media voted Jackson the favorite to win the SEOAL.
Jackson is definitely the favorite.

That's about right. 'Burg capitalized on special teams (onside kick to start second half) and used a ball control ground game and solid defense.Paladin wrote:I like Logan's chances in this one. Logan's defense is still very unproven. Jackson will go with their unbalanced fronts and counter off them. Logan did a good job for the first quarter/quarter and a half last season, but once they went to the counter plays Logan was done for.
Reagan Williams was completely dominant on the "weak side" last year for JHS. I think Potter is doing some of that work this year, another great player!
Logan's offense will have to keep the Jackson defense guessing. They are very quick and active with an odd front (they play a 3-4). Their linebackers are active. They are agressive and get to the football in numbers.
Logan will need to protect Little and will need to be patient to spring McBride IMO. Should be a great game.
