I won't be in RV, I'm going to Athens/Meigs. I'm sending the 105 crew to Bidwell - they sometimes give me updates and sometimes not. I'll send you what I get.LoganLocos wrote:93dog -93Bulldog wrote:Friday's game can be heard on Power 105.5FM or online at wxtq.comAlexander Hitman wrote:RV fan is this game going to be online? This will be a good one. Last year, the weather played in Alexander's favor. We will see this time around.

Sparty is hearing the trash talk. Game will be physical and Alex pulls it off.

Had a nice conversation with Coach Sparling this morning. Seems very humble about the whole experience this season. I don't know about trash talk, but he made it clear he really respects Coach Penrod and his program and he doesn't seem to be caught up in anything, just approaching things in steps, not only games this season, but with the program overall as well. Got to tell you, I was a doubter. I didn't think he would stick around long enough to do anything with this program. He just seems so focused on making RV a top notch program. Much respect to him and I have faith him and the Raiders will get it done tonight in what could truly be their toughest test from a matchups standpoint on both sides of the ball.

BlizzardMan, I couldnt agree more! I interview Coach every Tuesday for the RV Broadcasting Team, and he is everything you just stated. His passion for this program and where it has come and IS going is just amazing to me, especially as a alum of RV!
Looking forward to tonight. Weather report looks better and better everytime I see it. Hopefully dry for the game!

Very true RVRaiderFan. He even offered to help me anyway he can and I work in another school district! Stand up guy. I think the better the weather the more it will help the Raiders, but I could be very wrong.RVRaiderFan wrote:BlizzardMan wrote:Had a nice conversation with Coach Sparling this morning. Alexander shows without a doubt the TVC title runs through Albany this year IMO. Great job by them. RV keep your heads up. You competed until the last whistle again. I can't remember any Raider team that has went this far into a season and were in it every game. From listening to the game, I say the last defensive stand when Alex was at the 11 and kept out of the endzone says a lot about how the program has truly changed. The Raiders still believed they could win and refused to let Alex close it out easily. Congrats to both teams, especially the Spartans!Alexander Hitman wrote:Alexander 22

The Spartans defense was very good tonight. RV defense was impressive, but the Alexander coaches made nice adjustment and really turned to game. #4 for RV can really throw the ball. He put a ton of pressure on the Alexander defense.
The standout defensive players to me were Shea Grigsby, Chase Harris and Lukas Thompson. Lukas shutdown #3 following him around all night. He made a huge one handed interception and helped take control of the first half. Shea was a man tonight getting in the backfield and running down runners. Chase again controlled the edge, but his biggest contribution is his punting of the ball. When he pins the other team deep and forces them to drive the full length of the field it will be tough to put up a lot of points.
Spartans did not finish well. Too many flags and personal fouls. The Spartans are 3-0 in Homecoming games. Let's keep focused and work toward the next team.
Go Alex.
