Re: Week 8 Caldwell (7-0) @ Fort Frye (7-0) PVC Championship
What I meant was I hope they don't think it's going to be an easy win like most (not all) of the Caldwell and other people on here. Personally I think if they played in Woodsfield that the Monroe vs Caldwell game would of been closer.

The guys at the prison made it back early this morning. They left after their golf rounds last night. I will try to get more from them today. We are going to eat tonight at bw3s if Donna Sue let's old Swagger go (if you are from noble County you know swagger, he is a living legend). Sounds like me and my buds are going to have some fun for the next 48 hours once they wake up today.

I think Caldwell people who know football realize that Fort is a very good team, solid program and is extremely well coached. That said, I think Caldwell is easily better in all facets of the game and if we come to play I think it won't be in question but there are a lot of "if's" there. I hope it is a great game, the Redskins need to be tested before the playoffs. They have been tested for exactly one half of football this year, against Waverly, and they really came to play in the third quarter.
EasterDspy, if you were at the Caldwell v Monroe Central game you wouldn't say that. Caldwell went through the motions and completely dominated them. The game was a running clock early in the third quarter and the Caldwell JV played the ENTIRE fourth quarter against the Monroe varsity. That game could easily have been 50-6 rather than the 36-6 it ended up. Monroe just simply isn't very good this year.

Every facet? I'm not sure about that one Casey Lewis, Garrett Lockery , and Devin Waterman are pretty good at the skills spots I'd take them over Ridenour, Ivey and Heller. Now I agree that Caldwell has the better line, QB and defense but you don't measure heart on intangibles. Also Anthony Winters has been a complete beast an animal getting to the QB but he's been getting double teamed.

I agree those are all good athletes. Mettler is our best receiver, not Ridenour. He is also an outstanding return man. As for Ivey, he is the best athlete on our team. He lays the wood from his linebacker spot and averages around 10 yards a carry as a running back. He also kicks the majority of his kick offs out of the endzone. Heller is just back from a broken leg. He has started on defense since his freshman year, Clark didn't even start as a freshman so he must be pretty solid. The past two games are the first time I've seen him play offense. Not sure if he gives much other than blocking on that side of the ball. Hoping for a good game with no injuries. Not sure how Fort will fair against our D, expect them to make a big play or two. The Caldwell varsity D has allowed 24 points in 7 games this year. My prediction is Caldwell 34 Fort 14.

If FF can contain Clark this might be a football. If they can't stop him running then lookout

Probably key to the game for Fort Frye. Very tough task though as it seems Caldwell gets stronger as the game goes on.PVC MAN wrote:If FF can contain Clark this might be a football. If they can't stop him running then lookout

That's what I'm afraid I'm scared that Caldwell could wear Cadets down. Look for Kehl, Baker, and Winters to try to keep the Caldwell lineman off the Cadet LBs so Carpenter and Layton can run free.

That is my take on this game. FF keeps it close for a half and then Caldwell wears them down in the second half. Anything can happen in HS ball.....but still think Caldwell is just too strong overall for FF to overcome.

Those boys are big though Winters (245) Baker (260) and Kehl
(300 +). This isn't your normal tiny Cadets squad weight program has did wonders.

If you get there early Jukebox pizza in Waterford is amazing. Cadets have like 48-50 players.

Was having this discussion who do you think is the best athlete in the PVC in the last 20 years? Street Beallsville, Eric Henniger Fort Frye, Jed Stevens Shenandoah or Tyler Engle Fort?

8 of 9 prognosticators in the Parkersburg paper picked Caldwell.

Hard to pick against Caldwell especially if you've seen them play but anything can happen. Over/Under 4500 people in attendance tonight?efarns wrote:8 of 9 prognosticators in the Parkersburg paper picked Caldwell.
