WEEK 8: Jackson (6-1) @ Meigs (5-2)
Last time Jackson came off an emotional win against Granville they came out flat against Burg and didn't play well, similar circumstances this week after beating Logan they now have to face a very tough and gritty Meigs squad and can't afford to sleepwalk through a quarter or half. Will need 4-quarters against the Marauders.
Meigs will be looking to rebound after the Athens loss, and will play very hard. This is the last of a 3-game away stretch for the Ironmen before they finish their last two at home.
If you are an Ironman fan you hope they put together another clean game where they didn't turn the ball over on offense and mixed up the play selection very nice and I thought kept Logan off balance. Offensive line played very solid and on the other side of the ball the defensive line continues to set the tone for how well we play in my opinion.
The sophomore and junior classes really stepping up, simply huge effort, and plays by every single one of them on the field in very crucial situations.
Not sure of the status of Conley and Potter, but hoping for a quick return to both.

Good luck to Meigs, but I think the Ironmen will be too much for them.
Re: WEEK 8: Jackson (6-1) @ Meigs (5-2)
If Meigs can keep from falling behind early like they have the last three games they can be there at the end. Athens just wasn't the team to get behind on. Even if they would get ahead early they must keep their heads in the game.
Re: WEEK 8: Jackson (6-1) @ Meigs (5-2)
This will be a very tough game for Jackson. Not playing well will lead to the upset. Jackson needs to keep the positive momentum they built up from last week.
You want a home game in week 11?....then win this one.
Better show up ready from the opening kickoff and be prepared for fake punts, onside kicks and 4th down attempts.

If Jackson come out and plays, they should dominate the Marauders with their physicality on offense and suffocating defense.
If they take the foot off the gas? Turn the ball over 4 times? Meigs could keep it close.

I see this being like the Athens game. Jackson will be up 29-7 at half but Meigs will play better in the second half
Jackson 42
Meigs 22
Meigs only goes for 2

Good luck to the Ironmen this week!
As others have mentioned, Jackson must put last week's emotional win behind them and place their focus on Meigs. The Marauders have a very good football team, so Jackson better bring their "A" game again this week.
There won't be many computer points on the line in Weeks 9 and 10 since Talawanda and Gallia Academy have struggled all season, so this is Jackson's last chance to really stock up on L2 points. A home game likely will not be possible if the Ironmen stumble this week, so they need to take care of business in Pomeroy on Friday.

Meigs needs to stay healthy after this loss or they could very well end up 5-5 on the year.

It's at Meigs, so they will be up by two scores as soon as Jackson steps off the bus. The question will be can Meigs do their part and maintain that lead?noreply66 wrote:If Meigs can keep from falling behind early like they have the last three games they can be there at the end. Jackson has issues handling success and maintaining focus across the board, could be closer than a lot of people think.
Wet football, grass field, Meigs officials, it could be tougher than some think. Meigs is solid.

If so, how would Meigs have 7 points? And then how would they get from 7 to 22? 5 FG's?RAIDER6309 wrote:I see this being like the Athens game. Jackson will be up 29-7 at half but Meigs will play better in the second half
