South Point Football
What is the latest? Heard last night that they may cancel the rest of the season. I honestly hope that it hasn't come to that....Nobody want to see a squad injured to the point they can't play or a school have to go through something like this.....

SP needs to give this staff at least 5 years to fix the mess the BOE created several years ago.
Re: South Point Football
Before I would cancel the season I would at least finish out the season playing JV ball on Mondays. Seems like there is a lot of younger kids playing on Friday night that would benefit from playing JV ball. Just my opinion

Re: South Point Football
They need new leadership at the football helm. They should have let Coffman finish out the year, and THEN if they wanted to let him go fine. Bringing in the new
coach in the midst of an 0-10 season was beyond shortsighted. Now you have a situation where the kids are beat down. I also believe the staff of the football team is way too young. You need some older fellows on the sidelines to help bring kids along. A disciplanarian who knows when to give and take is the first step in righting the ship.

That has seemed the problem at SP the constant change at the helm. They need to hire someone and stick with them. Hopefully they can keep playing.OVCfanatic wrote: ↑Tue Sep 26, 2017 1:54 pm They need new leadership at the football helm. If they can play jv ball do it but if you cannot field a team cancel it out

From what I've heard they are playing more sophomore's and freshman than juniors and seniors.

So are they cancelling the season? And is the coach gonna be there next season?

Money talks, Fridays will still be played. Not worth getting kids hurt if you ask me.

Re: South Point Football
Hard for them to field a football team when the majority of the players failed their drug test.

Question: does the school administrators require drug testing for all extracurricular activities, or just for football?
