Lets play "Devil's Advocate" for a second:

Wheelersburg is good, and has a bunch of SOC2 Titles... BUT... How do you think Wheelersburg would have fared when the SEOAL was at full strength?

People say Wheelersburg is one of the best in Southern Ohio... Its the "Big Fish, Small Pond theory. Most of the SOC2 Consists of schools in the same division except Vallay and I believe Waverly. Put them in a Conference with some bigger schools like Logan, Chillicothe, Marietta and Athens... Wheelersburg would have a Bigger Challenge.

IMO... Wheelersburg needs bigger and tougher opponents than Fairland and Oak Hill. (No disrespect to these fine teams.) But Wheelersburg needs to play tougher Out of Conference teams... Putting the Running Clock on 0-10 or 1-9 teams wont help you come Playoff Time.

Burg would do ok. But that was a bigger league. The pirates are a small school.

Exactly! Wheelersburg would do ok. Just like Ironton did when they were in it. But Wheelersburg wouldnt win the SEOAL in 3-4 straight years like the SOC. Wheelersburg is good, But they need better Quality OOC Opponents... Why? Look at the situation in our area...

Ironton has been down.
Portsmouth has been way down.
West has been down.

Other teams normally good are going through rough spells like Fairland, Waverly and Gallia Academy.

The best teams in Scioto County were Wheelersburg and Valley.

Wheelersburg will sooner or later hit one of those downward trending skids (Rebuilding Year) in the future. Its the nature of the game of Football. Wheelersburg will not ALWAYS be good. But the Pirates need to take that next Step to Get to that level.

Burg doesnt want to schedule logan elm. They are going to be in trouble.
When ZT played them at lower levels they stopped putting the points on the scoreboard.
Zt may be losing a lot, but they had 2 td scored on their defense this season at the jv and freshman level combined. This year was a very nice start to a run zt will have.
Im not going to say we will beat burg, but we will be back and much better because of the game this year.
Our 4 up front guys on defense had a great wrestling practice yesterday- it will pay off

I sure do wish Zt had their guns to play the burg this year.
Our best lineman career ending injury week 12 (#58)- he was our best wrestler too
#51, one of the two captains out in the first quarter
#11- mowery is in surgery this morning- he was half speed in week 13
He tried to play through a torn meniscus and pcl, but just cant and is having it done. He would have become the career scoring leader in svc in basketball, but cant play through it anymore

Watching CCC run the ball straight up the middle, I don't understand why Burg went away from that game plan last week after the first two plays picked up around 8 yards. It looks like CW is weak up the middle and Burg went to the spread and played right into CW's speed.

What is the score of that game so far?

Uh, canton is winning the battle on both sides of the line of scrimmage. The jet sweep is huge right now for canton, and that opens up the middle amongst other things. Bottom line.... Cantons ol is superior to wheelersburg. No where close

Burg did have success running up the middle. IMO they went away from it to fast and went to the jet sweep, which you are correct, CCC is running better.

Burg needed to go power and they didn't.

Bleeding Red, the score is 13-3 CW at the half. If there would have been replay CW's first score was not a TD as the runners knee was down at the one. They probably would have went for it on 4th down and more than likely scored but we will never know. CCC learned from last years game and they are playing very well.

Cw has been running more 3/down lineman than 4.... Opposites of what they did against WB. Let's see if any adjustnent s are made at half but cw is meeting resistance offensively too.... Canton is getting pressure using a 4 man rush. Hats off to them...they came to play.

We were not successful on anything. Im a huge burg fan but we got outplayed. I don't think scheme wise you could do anything different.

I went to the Coldwater vs Wheelersburg game. Coldwater dominated the defense line and offence line.
Wheelersbug offence line was Fat out of shape and slow they did not have a chance! Coaching can go so far you have to have the Jim’s and John’s.

This CW team has so many answers even with Petey post out for the last several weeks. He's their main rb, #4.... Nice adjustments at half finding the right plays offensively. Qb is a tad off for his normal self but I'd take his performance any day.
