West overrated

After watching both teams play, I'll give a slight advantage to Burg, and that is only because of Tanner Holden. While West has excellent defensive backs, I think his size and speed still gives him the edge.

Every other aspect of their games seem to be fairly even. I'll give West an advantage on the ground game, but not enough of one to overcome what Burg does through the air.

Anybody at the Raceland game knows that was easily a 3 TD game if not for 6 or 7 conveniently timed penalties that all seemed to go in the favor of Raceland. They definitely have a solid team, but West was on another level. I know placing blame on officials is usually unfair scapegoating, but maaaaaan that was bad. The final score sells West way short of the way they played.

There is no advantage for west in this game. Burgs run defense has proved themselves. They are 8 deep at d line . 8! They completely shut down Jackson rushing attack to 40 yards per quarter and holding their best back to 66 yards and he is lightning fast. West is good but they will have to hope for short fields and turnovers to win the game.

I have seen some film on west. I think they will have about the same maybe a little more success than Jackson did moving the ball. Their ability to throw the ball will keep burgs d a little more honest.. however I don't see west being within 21 points of burg in the end.. burg simply has too many players at every position and west will not last all 4 quarters with the pirates! I think west will go 9-1 and play till they meet burg for the regional championship. Good luck to both teams.

In the West scrimmage they didn't score on Ironton until the kids in the red jerseys were on the field. In fact they couldn't even move the ball on offense. Wheelersburg on the other hand moved at will against Ironton. When the scores started coming in during regular season it had this football fan scratching his head. Now maybe West wasn't at full strength when they scrimmaged Ironton. To me watching these two teams they weren't even close. No comparison between the two teams. Overrated, maybe, but scores don't lie. They have been taking care of business.

This is true. My answer would be Ironton was a scrimmage.
1.West is well coached they aren't gonna try to win a scrimmage. They work on things that need to be worked on. They could've threw the ball allover Ironton had they wanted to.
2.West is a sum of the parts team. We don't have Parkers and Holdens. Our running back is like 5-7 150. He looks like a middle school kid, but plays his butt off and wouldn't trade him for anyone. West is a team, not individuals. So in a scrimmage we don't have guys that turn 10 yard plays into 60 yard touchdowns. West's offense is control the ball, beat you up, and then hit the big play.

Just got word on my question about #33 and yes he is done for the year. He hasn't played since Ironton scrimmage. He is only a sophomore so he will be back next year. Sorry X8 didn't mean to get you in hot water !! LOL 23 is the kid that runs so well, 33 was just a good blocking back
