Waverly(27) @ (31)West

Post by Omega »

Probable battle for second place in the SOC 2 as Waverly (5-2) staggers to the Rock to battle the Portsmouth West Senators (7-0).

The Tigers have lost two of their last three because of a porous and injury riddled defense. Yet they maintain a potent offense and are capable of defeating West if the Senators are looking ahead to their matchup with the Wheelersburg juggernaut.

Portsmouth West has been the surprise team in SE Ohio, slowly building a solid offense and defense over the last season and a half. Their forte has been old fashioned hard nose football.

CalPreps predicts Portsmouth West 38 Waverly 21. What say you about this game between old rivals.

Waverly run defense in the middle is abysmal for whatever reason. West will run in middle a lot. West wins by three scores. 28-7

With the injuries I cant see Waverly staying in this one.

I just watched the minford-west game and changed my mind. This one will be a shoot out but west will control enough time of possession to win but I’ll say 42-35 west but I can easily see waverly winning as well.

It will be interesting to see how West handles a QB that can throw the ball around. The Waverly QB managed to go 18-25 against Burg's D.

What in the Minford game makes you think West can't run the ball effectively?

A must win for the Tigers. From what I've seen on video is that West is not very good in pass coverage. I look for Howell, and the Wolf brothers to have a big game. Now before the West fans lose their minds on me, I also seen West gain chunks of yards on the ground and by using short passes. I'm not even going to try pick a winner cause it's going to be a close game IMO

I didn’t say they couldn’t run effectively. If you study the posts, you will see that I said they would. I changed my post because waverly is pretty good passing the ball. I didn’t think west pass coverage was that good

I do not see this be a run away. But believe west can take it. I'd love to see a 10-0 west vs 10-0 burg so we can see all the chest thumping lmao

If west can slow down the tigers passing game it wont be close but if they cant I think this game could go either way

It’s hard for them both to be 10-0 when they play each other week 10. Lol.

I'll be taking this one in! I have seen west in 3 games on film. I think waverly will move the ball well. However, west should win this one by a couple scores

Not sure what is funny about that? Kid has 5 interceptions with 2 I know of being for pick 6's. This has been a bend but don't break defense which always seems to come up with a big turnover or big play in the crunch time.
