Big Rockets fan (and Fairfield Union and Gallia and Western Brown) this week. Last time these two met at Wellston the Rockets blew a 3 score lead when Saltzman went off on a one-man tear and Athens escaped with a win if my memory serves. Rockets are again this week in a game they can win. Go Blue!

Good old wellston fails to finish the game once again in a close one. Play calling on the last drive was hideous if ask me up the middle didn't work all night so why do the same with the last drive.

Listening to post game show on the radio and for the 2nd week in a row Athens fans are complaining about the refs...what a shocker!!!! How about you address the fact your team has struggled in games they probably on paper shouldve walked away with wider margins of victory!

A wins a win but we struggle in the red zone for some reason

I'm the Athens fan and I always post about stopping the stupid penalties and being better in the red zone. Thank God our defense is good

There are no moral victories, but if there were. Second time at Wellston in last 2 years they have seemingly let one slip away. One of these days they won't lose these type of games.

Congrats on the win and being 7-1/
#11 In the region and needed to be 9-1 just to have a chance of getting a road playoff game.
The schedule did not work out well this season?
Playing 1 d-3 team, who is 0-8 did not help.
Playing three D-2 Teams should have helped but really did not 7-17 (lost to a team that is 4-4)
and that leaves 6 teams, who are smaller.

Warren and Watkins were known to struggle bigtime this season, so there non-help had to be expected.
Losing to a mediocre Canal team really hurt.

Eastmoor Academy, who is right in front of Athens should win both of their remaining games.
St Francis DeSales should go 1-1

Hopefully Athens can win both and get the help they need to get the #8 slot.

What would ever make you think that Athens would win their last 2 games? Just in common opponents alone NY is hanging a running clock on teams Athens is barely beating.
Athens 19 Meigs 18
NY 49 Meigs 14
Athens 14 Wellston 13
NY 34 Wellston 2
Just trying to figure out your logic there?
