according to scout.com, UM now has the #5 recruiting class in the country, better than OSU who is 8th.

You cant really go by those rankings because they are based mostly on the amount of players rather than the quality of your players but this is a very good recruiting class imo I just dont think its a top 5 class

here it is

this class is a top 5 class plenty of talent

ABOUT OUR TEAM RANKINGS
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Scout.com team football recruiting rankings are based on the Talent, Need and Balance of players committed to that school. We consider only players who have made a Verbal or Soft Verbal commitment to that school. We include high school, prep school and junior college players in our analysis.

Talent - This category reflects the quality of players committed to that school. Teams must recruit difference-makers throughout their class to obtain a high ranking.
Need - This is analysis of whether the team needs are being met at each position. This value is capped per position type (i.e., a team does not receive extra credit for overloading at a position).
Balance - Teams must be represented at every position by players of each body type. Securing balance in every recruiting class is a necessity due to the injuries and attrition that are part of college football.

ABOUT OUR PLAYER EVALUATIONS
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Scout.com's player evaluations are made by our team of Recruiting Experts, who attend off-season combines and camps on college campuses, go to hundreds of games, and review miles of game film. Starting in June each year, the Scout.com recruiting staff makes monthly updates to our consensus player rankings.

ABOUT OUR EXPERTS
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Scout.com's Recruiting Experts work in every region of the country and cover every Division I-A football team and conference. Led by Jamie Newberg and Allen Wallace, our team collectively possesses over 100 years of experience covering college football recruiting. Our staff is universally recognized as the most trusted source of timely recruiting news and in-depth player evaluations.

Russel Shepard, #1 run/pass QB in the 2009 class had some interesting things to say this week.

Shepard said the situation at Texas opens up his recruitment for other suitors.

“I would say Texas is still up there, but Michigan is really at the top of my list, especially if they don’t get (2008 top recruit) Terrelle Pryor,” he said. “I feel like I could go there and play right away. I’m also looking at Florida and LSU. Both of those schools have pretty good depth-chart situations for me.”

Can you believe this!!???? CJ Crawford is rated the #4 rated dual threat QB in the 09 class. I have to admit after seeing him on numerous occasions, he is mid major talent at best. If Michigan offers him I will shot myself, jk.

Brandon Smith, new Wolverine was interviewed on signing day and all he kept saying is "we have to beat OSU". Made me smile inside.

interesting tid bit about Ricky Barnum, new OL commit for the Wolverines. In the Under Armour All AMerican Game he was the only one to pancake Omar Hunter, in fact he did it three times. Also, his team played and beat Brewsters by 21 in highschool. 8)
