Re: WK 10: Chillicothe (7-2) @ Jackson (8-1) FAC Championship Game
Jackson has the right coaching staff to figure out how to contain Maughmer.
I think the Ironmen will do that by controlling the clock and playing aggressive, disciplined, defense.
Good luck to the Ironmen - bring home that first FAC title!

i say Chillicothe rolls in this game 35-7... Maughmer has proved to pick apart defenses right and left and I don't see him slowing down, Chillicothe will force a few timely turnovers that will put this game out of reach.

If your coaching staff is putting together a game plan to stop Maughmer it will be a long night for the Ironmen. You don't stop him. you can try to slow him down but stopping is out of the question.loganlocos wrote: ↑Mon Oct 23, 2017 10:17 am Jackson has the right coaching staff to figure out how to contain Maughmer.

First of all, I'm not a member of Jackson's coaching staff or even a Jackson fan.CavalierAlum05 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 23, 2017 12:06 pm If your coaching staff is putting together a game plan to stop Maughmer it will be a long night for the Ironmen. Second of all - I CLEARLY said "contain" Maughmer. Of course you can't "stop" him. But force him to throw it, force him to stay inside the pocket, etc. all give you better chances to win.
Most importantly - control the clock by sustaining long drives and limiting his touches.

Gotta go with my Ironmen! Lots of emotions involved in this game for the Seniors knowing it's possibly the last time they suit up with a loss. Both teams are going to leave it on the field!!! Games like this one are what these boys have been preparing for their entire career! That stadium is going to be rocking!! Go Big Red!

Jackson has a pretty dynamic player also, last time Chilli saw him at Jackson he was a sophomore and they saw the back of his #23 jersey running into the end zone of the first OT from about 25 yards out for the Ironmen win.
Whoever does the better job against McCoy or Maughmer probably puts their team in the best position to win this game. Should be a good one.

If Jackson can complete a few passes they will win this game. Dont see chilli being able to stop the rushing attack all nigh without loading the box.

Chilli has seen this before this year in a much better opponent, Hartley. We didn't do well at that obviously, But Jackson is no Hartley. They will be familiar with this style of play.
Did Jackson have some key players go down to injury? I remember reading something earlier in the year about 2 starters going down. Any truth to this? and if so are they back? We want them at FULL strength!
Re: WK 10: Chillicothe (7-2) @ Jackson (8-1) FAC Championship Game
I believe Jackson has lost three defensive starters and one offensive starter for the season with no chance of a return. They've had some other key players out during portions of the last few weeks, but I think those guys should be back and ready to go this week. Not completely sure of that, however. Every team deals with injuries, though, so it's just something that you have to overcome. A lot of younger guys have done a good job of stepping in and picking up the slack.CavalierAlum05 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2017 7:10 amDid Jackson have some key players go down to injury? There hasn't been anything lopsided about this series lately. It will be a battle. The only way it turns lopsided is if someone has the turnover bug. Both teams are well coached and have prepared accordingly. It will come down to execution. Chillicothe QB is a great athlete and will get his share of positives in the game as well as the Ironmen! Jacksons defense has been tough all year and will continue to do so regardless. Going with the Ironmen 28-21.
