Portsmouth West definitely came to play and delivered a shot right away. Held Burg to a 3 and out afterwards but couldn't capitalize enough early. The kick off return to the 30 after Burg tied it that ended up stalling out set the tone for the rest of the night. Good game and great atmosphere.

Our play calling in the first quarter was a little rough. Really like the big tight end for west
# 85, young man has great hands, works really hard as well as the little running back for west. That running back runs really hard and earns what he gets. Good luck to both teams next week in the playoffs. Go Burg!!!

Hurd finished with 18 carries for 56 yards or something like that. He had more receiving yards than rushing. He is a very good tailback. Tough kid.

A little good natured gloating is allowed since ALL season and ALL week long we had West fans telling everyone how they were going to beat The Burg and prove the world wrong. Still West has nothing to be ashamed of. But then again 9 out of 10 running clocks agree.....BURG IS THE WORD!!!!!!!
