Re: Round 2 D6 region 23 Fort Frye @ Nelsonville-York (site to be determined)

Post by Orange and Brown »

Athens gave up 9 points a game heading into week 9.
We scored 52.......

I'm sure the Cadets will show up ready to play, but for someone to predict that the Bucks will/could score over 40 isn't a slight to Fort Frye.

I dunno that’s a lot that’s double what they gave up in a game all season.

Tri valley is still playing, why would they want to host?

Steubenville CC had like 5 straight games of 40 plus points and they had 7 straight 3 in outs. Nelsonville is amazing but to predict a 42-14 victory to me is a stretch and super disrespectful. I hope all the Buckeyes players and fans are thinking the game will go this way.

I think NY and Fort Frye are the two best teams in the region. Just on an eye test, I would rank the top 4:

1. NY
2. FF
3. CG
4. SE

Our fans don't reflect what our layers think. Our kids prepare and take each opponent very seriously.....

We are darn good, our Dline is the best in Southeastern Ohio. Our defensive backfield is arguably the best in Southeastern Ohio as well.

No one is saying Fort Frye is bad, we just think we are better.
I will refrian from posting on this topic this week.
Good luck, PM me later this week and we will meet up at the game.

I dont think it will be zanesville because Licking Valley and John Glenn should be there. How bout Athens.

NY fans are too much. They ran down Vinton County leading up to that game. They're still running down Shadyside, and there aren't any Shady fans on the board. It's probably a lot of fun to come on a message board and write all these checks that someone else is going to cash for you.

Dude that's an ridiculous statement. The Downfield pass coverage is arguably the weakest part of NYs D.

Jim Rockwell is one of the nicest venues there is (if you’re on the home side.) If you’re on the visiting side, it blows.

Field: A+
Home Seating: B
Visit Seating: D

Parking: F

The last time I was at New Lexington two years ago. To the northwest of the field (behind where the “P” would be in the photo O&B posted), was a grass lot where I parked. Depending on how early, and if you’re allowed, you can probably park behind the home stands.

I imagine the AD’s from both schools will call New Lexington’s athletics office and ask for better parking information. The stadium is a little different from others in that the perimeter of the football stadium is built into the side of the hill.

Note: Jim Rockwell Stadium and New Lexington are on two opposite sides of the village. Don’t go to New Lexington HS unless you want to miss the first quarter of a good game.

If NY is not careful, they could suffer the same fate as OSU today. NY may have weapons and speed, but have not seen anything like the Fort Frye defense. Some are going to say look at Athens, but that is a rivalry game. This is survive and advance. Forts D will be ready for NY. The question is, can NY stay focused. They have so far, but we will see.
