Ironton's Coach Lutz Ohio HS football victory record broken
Re: Ironton's Coach Lutz Ohio HS football victory record broken
Congratulations to Manchester coach Jim France on his record breaking 382nd victory

Coach Lutz's comment. A class act.
“You have to have a good program set up to where you have good enough players each year to keep it going,” said Lutz, 74 and a 1961 Ironton St. Joseph graduate. “You have to have continuity with your coaches you have around you so that you don’t have a big turnover, and you just go game-to-game and season-to-season. That is a great accomplishment for him. … You tell coach France that I congratulate him. Records are always there to be broken. He has had a fine career and good luck to him.”

Time for Lutz to make a comeback somewhere. Low pressure program and get some wins.

Does anyone have what Bob's average is against teams with a winning record. Just wondering.

With his overall record I would say he beat most teams regardless of their record. Proud to say I was there when Coach Lutz won his first game ever ISJ over Chesapeake.

I think this is saying that bob lutz is 74 and a graduate of ironton st joe. In 1961. Bob lutz is no longer coaching. Retired several years ago hence the issues at ironton for the last several years. I don't know how old coach France is. I would like to know his win loss record. 382 wins takes a long time to get to. Especially if you don't have about a 75% winning percentage. Congratulations to coach France.

Coach France is 74 and his record is 382-120-4. Coach Lutz's record is 381-91-5

Have the picture hanging in my man cave when Coach Lutz broke the record against Nelsonville York. Also still have the ticket in the picture from the game. 10-23-2009 was the date. Congratulations to Coach France on his accomplishment. He is also principal at Manchester High School.
Re: Ironton's Coach Lutz Ohio HS football victory record broken
And still making excuses, who cares its not about how many losses or who coached longer ,its MOST wins ever!! Give the man credit without trying to downplay his accomplishment ,at least BOB showed a lot of class, you all really miss BOB and for mote reasons thenYOU'RE TIGER BAIT wrote: Mon Nov 06, 2017 12:23 pm and 29 less losses. and I think coach lutz retired at like 68

Re: Ironton's Coach Lutz Ohio HS football victory record broken
I believe Reno Saccocia of Steubenville is getting close to Lutz and France.
Re: Ironton's Coach Lutz Ohio HS football victory record broken
How long has Saccocia been at Steubenville? The reason I ask is it seems the coaches breaking records started young and stayed at the same school. And were obviously successful at building a great program over the years. It seems rare these days that you see that as there is "always something greener on the other side of that hill."
