I agree with that assessment. Burg has yet to give up 1000 yards rushing through 13 weeks.

Offensively I think Burg will revisit the power run game this week.

Middletown Madison very quietly came through Region 20. As the 2 seed they knocked off 7 seed Anna then 3 seed CHCA and finally 5 seed West Jefferson. Those were the 3 favorites to come out of this Region so they went through the gauntlet. And, they seemingly have improved every step of the way.

Cameron Svarda ran 20 times for 219 yards and 2 Touchdowns.

Cole Pelham, Jason Phelps and Mason Whiteman also had TD runs. Whiteman returned an Interception return for 96 yards for the 6th TD of the night.

Whiteman is the Quarterback

He ran for 104 yards in Week 12 v CHCA. He was 0-5 with an interception passing in Week 12. I don't know of his stats for tonight's game as of now.

But it's safe to say the Burg is playing another run happy team.

Like Wheelersburg they were down at the half in Week 12. CHCA led 13-7. Madison came back to win 35-27.

Svarda had 159 yards on 19 carries with 3 TDs in Week 12.

As with Johnstown, if Madison is to beat us they'll have to beat our run defense and I like our chances!

Madison didn’t have a single passing yard against West Jeff. QB went 0 for 2. If they try the same philosophy as these other teams have. They’re going to be in for a long night.

I think this game plays out like last nights game. Burg stops the run and force Madison’s hand.

That's pretty impressive to be this deep into the state playoffs and being able to play at Chillicothe. Offensively with Madison being a run heavy team will play into the matchup strength of Burg. Defensively though have to be VERY impressed with what Madison done against West Jefferson, they beat down West Jeff 42-7 and from what I was reading West Jeff came into the game with over 2,600 passing and 2,300 rushing yards on the season, so to shut that down they must be playing some really good ball at the right time. Congrats to Burg on advancing to this point and good luck represent SEO well.

West Jeff also had 5 turnovers. QB threw 4 picks and also fumbled. 2 were pick 6’s

A lot of Madison’s players play both ways. That will definitely be a factor here. As Burg has a depth chart as long as the last Census.
