Would benefit them in a huge way, if they can get that roster over 45 this coming season.

Re: Coal Grove Hornets Football 2018
After an amazing season this year it's hard for me to see them not repeating. They are losing 3-4 key starters (Kimo,Angelo, Waulk, Jones) but they will bring back a lot of expiernexe with kids that now know what it takes to be great. As always, there are rumors of a few kids that left CG returning.. and they would be a huge help!

Re: Coal Grove Hornets Football 2018
Coal Grove loses the Center (52), Both Guards (50/55), and Both Ends (1/5). 5 of the 7 O-Linemen. They also lose the WB (15) and FB (34) backfield. So, offensively they return 4 starters (Both Tackles (58/53),QB (8), and RB (12)
Defensively, they lose the NG(77), Both Defensive Tackles (52/50), 1 Defensive End (5), Both Linebackers(1/34), and both corners (15/3). So, defensively they will return 3 starters Both Safeties (23/8) and a DE (2).
Thats more than 3-4 starters, but we will see. Hope they can boost their schedule. Maybe pick up a good team week 1.

If that was the schedule I’d say the same as they did this season. 9-1 with PW being a lossMatt77 wrote: Sun Nov 19, 2017 8:53 am Never too early to get the thoughts/predictions going. I wouldn’t count out Lucasville Valley just yet. They are a solid .500 or above team next year.#ReachHigher wrote: Mon Nov 20, 2017 6:31 amIf that was the schedule I’d say the same as they did this season. 9-1 with PW being a lossMatt77 wrote: Sun Nov 19, 2017 8:53 am Never too early to get the thoughts/predictions going. Re: Coal Grove Hornets Football 2018
True, but I would still go with Coal Grove in that match up. Fairland is improving too. They went 6-4 this year and looked pretty solid. Good year for them. PW only beat them by 2 points. They lost by 10 to Coal Grove and 20 to Waverly, and of course Burg blew them out, but they are a contender in the OVCJolly P(irate) wrote: Wed Nov 22, 2017 5:29 amI wouldn’t count out Lucasville Valley just yet. Re: Coal Grove Hornets Football 2018
The OVC should have parity again next year.
CG returns several good athletes but those waiting their turn to play needs to hit the weights and put on healthy weight to be ready. Many first time full time starters this year with Juniors and a couple seniors obviously proved putting in the hard work as underclassmen and showing patience paid off.
11-2 season, outright OVC championship and regional finals.
Hopefully several more will come out that didn't play this year and the incoming freshman class will have good numbers and be open to the solid teaching and hard work because it will be their turn in 2-3 years.
Trust in the coaches and Go Big Grove!

Re: Coal Grove Hornets Football 2018
Coal Grove has a good thing going. This season was a turning point for their program. Nothing like setting the stage for younger players to want to be a Hornet when they get older. It makes a big difference.
Once a Tiger, always a Tiger.

Re: Coal Grove Hornets Football 2018
They lose a lot and can’t tell what the replacements will do. Only next year 3 game u will know more about CG football. They do have one thing in their corner, a young coach that took over a program that was picked to be in the middle of league and made them champions to a region runner-up.
Re: Coal Grove Hornets Football 2018
There's a nice article in the Ironton Tribune from last week about first year head coach Evan Ferguson. Unfortunately I can't get it to paste correctly!

Thanks. I would copy the article and when I pasted it went to a different one.
