The last one they won was over number 1 Marion Local in an epic battle. Kirtland' fullback dominated the second half of that game.

Marion Local has won a state title in 5 of the last 6 seasons. Kirtland is the only team to beat them in the playoffs since 2011.

Kirtland beat them 22-20 in the D6 title game in 2015.

ML has been back and forth between D6 and D7 recently.

No, Kirtland is in the Cleveland area. They play in the Chagrin Valley Conference, I think.

Ya know, I've stayed out of the prognosticating business for a good while now, but, I am going to make an exception and jump in here. I've seen Marion Local play live once, in the small school state championship game, against Columbus Grove years ago, and they could not handle a beast at RB and a team that could pass when it had to. CG won their only state championship then, and it was a dandy. Kirtland has been successful doing what they do, and have beaten ML, before. I see it again. I sure as Hell don't see anyone administering a "beatdown" on Kirtland. Not sure what your reasoning was Raider, to throw that out there in such an inflammatory tone, other than to incite the NY folks after that got a "beatdown" by Kirtland. And.I.don't.like.saying.that.about.NY. But, that said, NY got handled pretty well by Kirtland.

I don't see a "beatdown" in the championship game. I think this one is truly a slobber knocker, and the deepest team takes it, in a close one.

Kirtland has never been able to throw. They have also never needed it. A big turnover late decides this one. Someone wins it 14-10.

Kirtland had the momentum and 3-0 lead, had shut ML down until Kirtland fumbled a punt with 3 minutes left in the 1st Qtr. ML drove down the short field to score, and have scored again since, 14-3 with a few minutes left in the second qtr.

Kirtland is not built to come from behind, so this may be a long day for them. ML is moving the ball now at will.
