Re: Ironton St. Joe to SOC
The Ironton Tribune reported that Beaver Eastern will move to SOC II. SOC I will be St. Joe, Green, Portsmouth ND, Clay, Symmes Valley, New Boston, Sciotoville East and Latham Western.

Good for St. Joe! There’s room for 1 more school in the SOC 1 since the divisions are currently 9-8... wonder if they’ll allow someone else in?

Re: Ironton St. Joe to SOC
Those are the only 2 that even pop up in my head because it needs to be a move to SOC 1.. I wish they’d add 7 more schools and make 3 Divisions of 8 schools (Jackson, Ironton. Manchester, S Gallia, Coal Grove, South Point, Portsmouth)
SOC 1
New Boston
St. Joe
Clay
Green
East
Symmes Valley
South Gallia
Notre Dame
SOC 2
South Webster
Manchester
Oak Hill
Valley
Northwest
Eastern
Western
Coal Grove
SOC 3
Waverly
Ironton
Portsmouth
Wheelersburg
Jackson
Minford
Portsmouth West
South Point

I like that. Could add league implications to old rivalries. Very interesting.Ironman92 wrote: Thu Dec 14, 2017 10:03 pmThe SOC was always my #1 choice to joinbbjunky81 wrote: Thu Dec 14, 2017 9:57 pmThose are the only 2 that even pop up in my head because it needs to be a move to SOC 1.. Re: Ironton St. Joe to SOC
I think it improves football for many of those schools as well. Wheelersburg is always loaded, Jackson has a great program, West has shown improvement and on the upswing, Ironton traditionally a great program etc.
Basketball wise they still have 8 “out of conference” so schools like South Webster can still schedule Wheelersburg, Ironton schedule Coal Grove Etc.
Don’t think we’ll ever see it, but it’s fun to think about.

Re: Ironton St. Joe to SOC
I can verify Jackson to Hillsboro on a week night isn’t optimum lol....but we are very happy to have a league and athletically a good fitting league for usbbjunky81 wrote: Thu Dec 14, 2017 10:08 pm I think it improves football for many of those schools as well. Glad to see this for St. Joe and for SOC. Gotta think they'll be looking for one more, unless someone from SOC II moving out in next few years (been rumors of Waverly looking around).*

Re: Ironton St. Joe to SOC
Back in the 90’s there was heavy talk about an SOC/OVC merger but it’s just was a good competitive balance and Waverly has been shopping around for awhile Manchester was suppose to join for football only but it’s going to get interesting what gets me is eastern going to SOC 2 for all sports that to me doesn’t seem right but man SOC 1 there is a lot of football teams even when oak hill moves up
