Who do you consider a threat?

Post by seofan_via_dublin »

We have several teams represented here, many of which have championship aspirations.

What team or teams do you consider a legitament threat to upset your favored teams run?

Also, make sure you mention why.

Everyone knows my team! :-D

I think the Buckeyes have two dates that they need to hone in on and make sure they
play together and win.

Two teams that will push them to there limits if they do not come in focused.

Those two teams are:

USC and Wisconsin

The USC game is a no brainer as to why.

The Wisconsin game is the one that actually concerns me though, and really for only one reason.

Camp Randall Stadium, in October, at night.

Good news is the Buckeyes have two easy home warm up games before they go on the road for both of these teams.

I think Illinois will fall from where they were last season.

I cannot bring myself to fear Penn St, especially at the Shoe.

Michigan will always be a big game, and I would include it here, but I consider it a challenge every year and there
is no need to list it here.

Of course everyone knows who my team is.

I honestly believe this year will be much better than most are predicting. Michigan from top to bottom is as talented as anyone they play this season aside from OSU. With that being said they are also very inexperienced at many key positions.

I am very interested to see how the opener goes against Utah. The Utes are picked to be a BCS buster, though I feel BYU fits that billing, but they are a very talented team none the less. If Michigan is able to win the opener I don't see a reason why they won't start the season out 3-0 before Wisconsin comes to town.

I know there will be many people who think that ND will knock of Michigan this year, but I honestly just don't see it happening. Clausen will be a much better QB there is no doubt in my mind, but will his line be any better? I can't say they won't be better, but I don't believe they will be much better than last year. With two games under their belt I feel like UM will have a better feel for their offense and the defense will terrorize Clausen all day. I know ND has talented freshman, but they are exactly that. I see this game looking like 24-20.

Wisconsin at home is huge. They have a great back in PJ Hill and a very good offensive line, but who will be behind center? I think you can only ground it out for so long before you are forced to throw and I like UM's chances. Michigan will have to score points or may find themselves behind the eight-ball in time of posession.

I really like UM against Illinois as well. Another case of we stoped you last year and played offensively with primarily backups on defense. By this point in the season Michigan will know how to defend the spread since they will see it every day. No Mendenhale for Illinois is big trouble. Illinois will be forced to throw it a lot more. I look for them to finish 7-5 this season.

At PSU will be big. They return a vet Offensive line and d-line. There are still big ??? at key positions. Is the super recruit Williams ever going to show up? Good thing this one should be over by the time it gets dark or else I would be a lot more scared of this game. BTW, Michigan since 1997 is 7-0 against PSU.

MSU....They want Michigan bad. For this season alone they really scare me.

Than UM will get a bit of a break untill OSU. Of course OSU is loaded with talent and should be a huge favorite, but it is The Game. Did you know that every new coach at UM has opened their rookie campaign with a win over OSU? I still expect OSU to win this but I hope I am surprised.

USC of course like you said. BUT, i actually am worried more of Penn St. than wisky. i know that is at camp randall, but inexperienced quaterback, and we have arguably the best D in the country, and can have our backers blitzing all night while our athletic d-backs take advantage of it. We will stack the box and shut down an overrated PJ hill.
Penn St I think is coming in under the radar and is gonna give us a test.they got a strond D.

Without picking the obvious choice, I am a little worried about Purdue, I know Ohio State, without sounding cocky, is the better team, but that game always worries me eery year, as well as Michigan State. And of course Michigan due to the rivalry.

OBVIOUSLY USC AND WISKY. BOTH GAMES ARE TOP 25 TEAMS. AND BOTH ARE AWAY. IF THE BUCKS BEAT USC, NOBODY WILL TOUCH THEM THIS YEAR. BUT THERE IS A BIG BUCKEYE HANGOVER NATION WIDE, FROM LOSING 2 CONSECUTIVE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS. THEY MAY HAVE TO BE UNBLEMISHED TO EVEN GET THERE. -------------- GO BUCKS.
