I cannot say that I have read Dr. Omalu's book, but I am in the process of buying it. It came out about 6 months ago.

I encourage anybody associated with football at any level to please obtain a copy.

Dr. Omalu says letting kids play football is the "definition of child abuse."

Galileo was persecuted by the Catholic Church when he published evidence that the Earth revolved around the sun. Dr. Omalu is currently being persecuted by many football fanatics for the truth about the damage to a child's brain due to repetitive force trauma.

Letting your kids play a contact sport is not child abuse.
Making excuses for them and not holding them accountable for their own actions is child abuse.
Letting then sit around playing video games and playing on their phone all day is child abuse.
Coddling them and hovering over them without letting them learn life lessons is child abuse.

Knowledge of the dangers is the key.

Take smoking for an example.



Notice the height of smoking during the middle of the 20th century due to the onset of television advertisements as well as the popularity of movie stars smoking in films.

The popularity in smoking gradually decreased as knowledge of its connection with cancer prevailed during the latter part of the 20th century.

I think not. Truth doesn't have a side. Just ask the tobacco companies.

Many of us remember going into the teacher's lounge that was filled with cigarette smoke. I do, at least, because I was an office worker. Form of child abuse? I would say so.

Your question was whether or not to ban football, soccer, and/or hockey? In due time, the court cases might take care of that.
