Don't see Oak Hill dropping that low after there first loss of the season, in OT without the starting center.

They still lost. The teams that jumped them either beat multiple Elite 8 teams last weekend, have won 15 straight games, or avenged one of their losses in a major way this past week. It isn't like Oak Hill dropped from 3 to 15, they dropped from 3 to 7.

And it is 'their' not 'there'.

I'd love to throw out some major kudos to the Meigs Marauders! 5-2 since they went through some major adversity and 7-2 after an 0-9 start. Pretty nice finish to the season when they could have easily folded. Add that super talented 8th grade class with Baer over the next couple years and you could see some special things from the Marauders.

Big week for the Blue Devils fairland and at Portsmouth before the draw. If they don’t win at least one of those. I don’t see them as a top 4 seed

Great rankings pfloyd. I'd probably rank them the following

1.) Fairland
2.) Logan
3.) Unioto
4.) Fairfield Union
5.) Oak Hill
6.) Warren
7.) Coal Grove
8.) Chillicothe
9.) Sheridan
10.) Eastern Pike

I will probably get berated for Oak Hill over Coal Grove since they just lost to them. But Oak Hill was without a key starter, on the road, and CG had to hit a miracle 3 pointer at the buzzer to send it to OT. They deserved the win, don't get me wrong, and they are hands down the best D4 team in SE Ohio. With that said, I think Oak Hill wins that matchup 9/10 times with Long in the lineup and 8/10 times with him out of the lineup.

Are you seriously asking if people watched the game? In my opinion that hurts your case not helps it. It took Coal Grove a prayer, 30 foot banked in buzzer beater with two guys in his face to send it to overtime against a team without their 6'5" starting forward to win in OT by 4 points...4 points. It's not like CG manhandled the Oaks like you are making it out to be.

I agree, Oak Hill takes 9 of 10 with a healthy Oaks squad at Coal Grove with the same crappy refs we had and 10 of 10 on neutral court with good officials.

Coal Grove is a good basketball team, but enjoy your win for what it is and let it go man.

And I have now congratulated Coal Grove more than once and told you Coal Grove has a nice team and I expect them to do well in the post season. There were just a lot of factors to take into account this game. Maybe Coal Grove would still have pulled out the win, but IMO I just don't see it based on all things considered. I am an Oaks fan so consider my opinion biased if you like, but there are plenty of unbiased opinions on here of long time basketball fans/experts. Those are the ones that carry some weight.

I will not argue with pfloyds rankings. He does a fantastic job and spends a lot of time watching and researching the game and I have a lot of respect for what he does and his opinion. It doesn't mean I have to agree that Coal Grove deserves a higher rank based on that win. These rankings are for our enjoyment only. What means the most is how these teams fair in the post season. I personally hope they both represent southern Ohio well in their respective divisions.

Just a little insight from someone who has watched the Coal Grove player who made that buzzer beater since he was in 2nd grade...he is known for his long range shooting, he is a hard working kid who practices a lot so it wasn't a fluke that shot went in. I've watched him drill long range shots like that many times and I think it was a great call by the Coal Grove coaching staff to put the ball in his hands that last play of regulation for two reasons. #1 They have confidence in him and #2 those not very familiar with him would least expect him to get the ball for the last shot to tie it up. Just my two cents on that subject. Good luck to all teams in the upcoming tournament and Go Big Grove!
